My Monday Apple Rage

Posted on Monday, September 27th, 2021

Dave!Well, I guess that work is done for the morning since my mouse ran out of battery and Apple has you charge the fucking thing from the bottom so it's no longer usable.

It's stupid shit like this... design over function... that has plagued Apple for decades. I never even got a warning that the thing was running low so I could charge it. What good is a "pretty" mouse if I can't fucking use the thing? I am so over this bullshit...

My stupid mouse unusable on its side because it's got a power cable plugged into the bottom of it!

Apple should allow you to NOT order an Apple mouse and keyboard when you get a new computer so you can use the money to buy something that's actually fucking functional with the money. Or... here's an idea... OFFER NON-APPLE OPTIONS WHEN YOU ORDER YOUR FUCKING COMPUTER! Maybe when people stop opting for their idiotic crap Apple will get a fucking clue? Probably not. Jesus. This is a company worth BILLIONS.

All they had to do was have the Lightning plug be at the front edge so you can plug it in and use it like a corded mouse when it keeps charging. But Apple has it on the bottom for some stupid-ass reason that only they give a fuck about.

Lord how I wish that Windows wasn't a flaming pile of shit so I had a viable alternative to this Apple crap.

    Linux? Nah.

Yeah, that drives me nuts about the mouse, too. Of course, it would be worse if I had a desktop computer so that was the only option. When mine dies, with its mere minute of warning, I use the trackpad on my laptop. So at least I have that out. But not when I’m at my standing desk and my laptop is not actually right in front of me.

I feel your pain. I have an OLD replaceable battery Apple mouse that someone gave me, that I keep in my desk to rescue me when the stupid design goes unexpectedly flat. Oh, and I agree on the winders issue, my office is all windows, I have two of those near useless paperweights.

  3. Sean says:

If Apple could design a mouse such that it only ran on Apple-branded electricity, it surely would.

Since we’re hating on Apple, I’ll pile on: Apple completed the ruination of iTunes by eliminating support for old iPods (Nano), splitting it into two crappier apps (Podcasts & Music), then removing basic features from both. I’m now using a crappy Sandisk mp3 player and a mediocre podcast app (Downcast).

And their latest security update bricked my MacBook Pro, forcing me to lose a week of productivity.

Also, Tim Cook needs to find a decent suit or I’m going to revoke his Gay card.

I had a Mac brick on me once after a simple incremental update to the OS… I think this was 4 or 5 years ago. The install process just wiped everything. Absolutely everything. When I contacted support, they said “That’s why we tell you to backup your computer before running the update.” SO HELPFUL!
