    David, I have seen that you state patties met!!! but, with what. The meaning is “French Fries with”. With what? Your old Dad is studying Dutch and your statement is incomplete.

      Having mayonnaise with your fried potatoes is so common here that they often just leave it off and say “fried potatoes with” and the mayo is assumed.
