Snowing

Posted on Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Dave!It takes me 5 minutes to drive home. I ended up stopping half-way because the snow accumulation on my windshield was so thick that the wipers stopped working. That's pretty bad. Then again, on the way to work I saw one car in the ditch and two others smashed on a street corner. That's really bad.

Once I finally made it home, I was done with snow.

Until I decided to walk to the cemetery and see if there was enough light to take a few photos...

And now I'm done with snow.

    GORGEOUS!
(And glad you made it home safely!)

  2. Lisa says:

Beautiful photos! I’m missing the snow this year. I complain about it when it’s here, but today it was over 60* and that’s just wrong.

  3. A. Lewis says:

Oh yeah, now THAT’S how to take pictures. Amazing! And by the way, pumpkin, you’re not “over snow…” It isn’t even winter yet!

  4. Tug says:

Absolutely beautiful photos, wow. Can you believe we don’t have one flake here in my little corner of Colorado? I’m with Lisa, I’d like to see some!

  5. Sarkawt says:

I love snow very much. Wow! Breathtaking photos. Thanks for sharing!

  6. As much as I hate the cold and snow, those are incredible photos.

  7. Wade says:

I like these images a lot. Just wonderful!

  8. Karl says:

Beautiful shots, Dave. And now I’ve had my fill of snow, too.

  9. Etienne says:

I’m sure you tweaked the pix after downloading (’cause, after all, that’s what you do for a living – make thing look their best) but, are they iPhone pix or did you use your ‘real’ camera?

    • Dave2 says:

These are with my Nikon D90. There’s no photo manipulation other than cropping. The “Active D-Lighting” mode and “Vivid Color” mode create these types of shots with no help from me!

  10. Sarah says:

    I love your pictures!

  11. whitenoise says:

    very nice 😉

Hey, just walked thru the SFO Apple Store and thought of you. Geez, can’t believe I’m actually thinking of buying an apple computer!

  12. Hilly says:

It’s amazing how beautiful it is for those of us that don’t have to live in it! I would love to sit inside and look out my window at that all day…just for a day or two, of course!

  13. the muskrat says:

Damn! We had flurries here. I heard about what the traffic is like in your neck of the woods on HLN this morning. It didn’t sound as pretty as these pictures portray it.

  14. Amazing photos, just stunning. I actually wish it would snow like that in some freakish “Phoenix gets 3 feet of snow for Christmas” type event. Could happen.

  15. Becky says:

All I can say is WOW. Those pictures are amazing.

  16. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. those images are magnificent. well done, dave. well done.

i like these even more than the rock images of yours that i purchased a while back. i am going to suggest that you put these in the store, k?

  17. Fucking incredible photos.

  18. Gorgeous snow-covered trees! Thanks for braving the cold to capture these pictures and share them with us.

  19. I can’t believe I saved this so long in my reader without commenting. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. These are so peaceful. 🙂
