Dave!

DAVETOON: I'm a Mac. I'm a PC

I'm applying to be a "PC Moron" at the new Microsoft retail store!

Is that like a Mac Genius? Kind of. Except we don't have to know anything about computers...

We just yell "OUR STUFF IS CHEAPER THAN APPLE!" - Doesn't sound like a very good shopping experience.

It's all we've got. Have you ever heard "you get what you pay for?" No.

    My sentiments exactly!

  2. They’re opening stores?! How lame.

  3. Sybil Law says:

    Hahahahahahaha!

  4. Kim says:

LOVE IT !! That is so true….I just showed it to one of our geniuses and she is cracking up !!

  5. Poppy says:

    Thumbs WAY up.

  6. Sarah says:

Oh oh oh! I could do that job! Then I could save up enough money to buy a Mac.

So where are the job applications?

  7. Timothy says:

Hilarious! I needed that to start off my day. I saw those dumb ads from MS when I lasted visited home in April.

  8. Avitable says:

I think the douches that work at the Apple Stores and the idiots who will work at the Microsoft ones are probably equal in my eyes when it comes to a level of disdain.

  9. Dave2 says:

I’ve only had one bad experience at an Apple Store in the dozens of times I’ve visited… everybody always seems to be exceedingly helpful and, most important of all… LOW-PRESSURE! If you say you’re “just looking” they say “okay, let me know if I can help or answer any questions!” THEN LEAVE YOU ALONE! That’s gold!

  10. Avitable says:

I’ve been in different Apple Store on three different occasions, and each time I was struck with how douchy the people who work there are. They weren’t pushy or high-pressure.

Like I said, I’m sure the Microsoft store employees will be equally obnoxious in my opinion.

Another gem in the world of Lil Dave and Lil Wayne.

“You get what you pay for” True that.

  12. whall says:

This post has an amazing amount of clarity, and I’m impressed, Dave. You actually told the truth in one of your cartoons!

Lessee… you also have a good political lesson here. The PC is clearly a Republican, because he has the desire to actually work for a living. The Mac has been known to be a Democrat for a long time now, as evidenced by it’s high price tag and tendency to belittle the PC for wanting to work, encouraging those on the sidelines to join in the derision.

With regard to the “you get what you pay for”, I do take minor exception and would like to make a clarification. I think it’d be more accurate if he said “*We* get what *you* pay for.”

  13. Dave2 says:

But see… you’ve got it all backwards again. I had brought this up previously when you declared The One Yes Tote Bag as a Mac…

@Blogography of course not, silly. I told you, #yestotebag is a Mac. That means he likes to have Other People Pay for things.

And I explained that it is, in fact, Macs that are the workers…

@whall You’ve got it backwards. Macs are always working. It’s the PC’s that are sitting around all broke and useless everywhere.

I never got a response. But I suppose that’s to be expected since you’ve taken the Conservative FOX News approach to life… ignore facts in evidence, invent your own truth, declare the outcome to be a “fair and balanced” statement, then decry any news source which comes to a different conclusion as “biased.” Of course, I suppose you would have to. If it weren’t for the massive upkeep required to keep Windows-based PCs up and running, you and your fellow Windows-apologist IT crowd would be out of a job! BOW BEFORE YOUR MASTER! BOW BEFORE THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!! Windows protection fault DLL exception registry error security violation failure… failure… failure…

Uh oh… there goes yet another Windows Vista PC crash. Don’t you just hate it when your PC is broke and refuses to work? Let’s just toss it aside and replace it with a brand new PC running Windows 7 that does work (at least, in theory). It may sound cruel, but the old non-working PC is inferior to new products born of the technology race, and has become a massive drain on society. So it’s really for the best, isn’t it? Oh… oh no… wait a second… it turns out that the non-functional PCs you toss aside don’t just evaporate into thin air after all… their problems just get worse and worse until they can no longer be fixed at all! Oops. We thought we were taking the cheaper route by denying Universal Computer Care to busted PCs, but now we have to pay even MORE money to care for the irrevocably broken in our overcrowded computer clinics. It’s the only way to keep them from piling up in our landfills. And… oh… holy crap…

  14. whall says:

Yes, The One #yestotebag is definitely a Mac. Have you noticed that he gets me to do all his work for him? I carry him around, take his picture, bring him food and brush his hair all the time. He’s quite the high maintenance icon.

Truth be told, I talked to a Genius at the Apple store about reserving some Genius time to help convince me the Mac to do the things the PC can’t. And he’d be open enough to things the PC does for me and show me how to do them on the Mac. It really is all about learning.
