There is no outcome for the midterm elections that doesn't result in something more fucked-up than what we already have.
I voted anyway.
Here's hoping we waste even more money on elections in 2016 so we can end up with something even more fucked-up than the fucked-up we just voted on.
Holy shit is this country depressing during election time.

I could not agree more, I live in Atlanta, never in my many many years of voting have I ever not had any of my candidates win. Georgia is corrupt…people continue to vote in governor’s that have ethics violations, attorney generals that hid memos, and cost the state over 3 million in wrongful terminations over the original ethics…it’s enough to make me want to become an expat and move to someplace warm and sip fruity drinks from my hammock. I am so discouraged.
On the other hand, it’s in our human nature to be tempted and sometimes go to the dark side. Politicians are no different. Sure, it’s wrong. But outside of electing the Pope, it’s going to happen. We seem to see it happening more because A) we mature and become more realistic, and B) the media shows less mercy towards politicos than in much earlier years. Understanding this, keeping our ideals, and remaining vigilant is a better choice than despair and giving up.
The amount of money we waste on elections doesn’t help any of us constituents. It only increases the power that the elected officials hold.
