Are you making fun of the idiot in Australia who just died? Seems a bit out of character for you…..even if he was an idiot.
I draw cartoons of toon people getting shot with guns, roasted with flamethrowers, beaten with clubs, knifed with blades, chopped with axes, and stabbed with scissors… but THIS is construed as making fun of somebody dying?
Um… okay. Not a very good job of it though!
Since it is so out of character for me, why don’t we say that this is a cartoon making fun of everybody planking everywhere EXCEPT the poor guy who died in this extreme sport.
Ok. Never heard of Planking before. People do this for fun?
Apparently. You could start a new fad in the Netherlands!
Excellent!
P.S. – I didn’t think you were making fun of the recent planking victim in the news…I just assumed you were being “current”. Which I always appreciate.
I only heard about it on the news last night, so it’s news to me… even though they’ve been doing it in Australia for years.
It doesn’t bother me….classic Darwinism in action if you ask me. For some reason this just struck me as uncharacteristic of you. I don’t mind if you make fun of the Acton Beale….heck I think just having a first name of “Acton” should be sufficient. I just feel sorry for his parents.
Of course there IS the extra fact that I had never heard of this “extreme sport” before Monday when I saw the news report on this one death, so when you mention it again about 26 hours later……in my mind there is a natural connection.
Getting roasted with a flamethrower, chopped up with knives & axes, etc……that’s a good Saturday of video games for me. Planking is just too obscure.
I had heard of “Extreme Ironing” before. As a species are we that bored and starved for attention we need to prop ourselves up on objects and act like rigor has set in?
I’m surprised you didn’t have the Bad Monkey taking advantage of the situation and ride Little Dave like a $5 wakeboard.
I only heard about “planking” yesterday as fans were rallying to have a “World Planking Day” on the 25th… or something like that… while I was watching a news program. I didn’t know anybody had died doing it until I read your comment.
I had to look planking up on the googler because I’ve never heard of it. I am getting very old because I just don’t see the appeal.

Um… yeah… that’s what turns up when you Google it.
Or click on my cartoon.
Ah – planking. It helps when I read the post title. From the illustration alone, I thought you were having a bad day.
