I had such a great time watching The Hangover at the movies last night, that I was planning on seeing a different film tonight. All day long I've been looking forward to it. But as the day became night... the exhaustion set in and suddenly none of the movies seemed good enough for me to make the effort. Terminator: Salvation was almost there, but I've read too many shitty reviews to risk it sucking. I guess I could have seen Star Trek for the third time but, given how tired I am, twice was good enough. Instead I walked to Johnny Rockets for yet another amazing vegetarian burger, then headed back to the hotel so I can blog and get ready for work tomorrow. My life is so exciting right now.
Meanwhile...
Work doesn't seem to be moving very quickly on the new Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle. It looks the same as it was months ago. Maybe they're just working on the inside where you can't see it right now...
Given what a colossal Hard Rock whore I am, I'm understandably excited about the new cafe. My biggest worry was that Seattle would get a shitty property, but the artist sketch from the Official Hard Rock Cafe website looks fantastic...
They're taking a classic old building and turning it into something special, which is what the best Hard Rocks do. They've also got a great spot... just one block from the Pike Place Market entrance. Hopefully it will do well so the location can stay open for a while... I'd be heartbroken if the cafe I've been waiting over two decades for shuts down after only a year or two. That would suck worse than never having one at all.
I just hope the guitar is right-side up on the finished building. It looks really funny up-side down in that sketch.
But what I REALLY hope that the baby in the room across the hall will settle down eventually. It's been screaming almost non-stop for THREE HOURS now. I need sleep tonight!

I really want to see The Hangover, it looks so damn funny from the previews. I’ll probably see Terminator too because I’m not hard to please and I tend to ignore reviews and see things for myself.
I wish we had a Hard Rock here in Rotterdam. There is one in Amsterdam, which is only about 45 mins away but parking is such a pain and I can’t be arsed to take the train. Also, now that I’m talking about it I vaguely remember talks of it closing, so maybe it’s gone.
YOU need sleep? What about the baby? He’s only crying because you’re whining about Terminator sucking or an upside down guitar! Babies are sensitive creatures and just because you’re not complaining out loud doesn’t mean they can’t hear you. I bet you were tweeting to me about Vista and Windows and how horrible Microsoft is while the baby was trying to grow, learn and be babylike.
That’s why babies are great around me. I don’t complain about anything except complainers.
And Obama.
Talk about making babies cry!
I’m excited about the new Hard Rock coming to Hollywood Blvd. It’s taking over the now defunct Virgin Megastore next to the Chinese theater – big space and I hate having to go to Citywalk in Universal Studios.
I bet that baby’s parents hope the baby stops screaming soon too. Almost nothing about kids ever bugs me but a screaming baby grates on my nerves like nothing else. One of my dayare boys went through a phase where he screamed for his entire nap time. It was awful and I almost stopped watching him because I couldn’t take it. I did increase my fees for him, hoping they might just decide to leave. They didn’t but at least I got compensated for my torture.
Do you know what might make YOU cry? I have never been to any Hard Rock Cafe anywhere. We can still be friends, right?
I didn’t even know we were getting a Hard Rock. You’re so hip, Dave.
Hope your crepe was DELISH. Next time I hope I am free to meet up!
They cry in agreement.
I kind of like the upside down guitar. I can’t remember the last time I went to a Hard Rock Cafe. It might have been in Las Vegas in… oh… 1995. Guess I should make a point of visiting the one in San Antonio the next time I’m down there.
The end result of the Hard Rock in Seattle looks great.
And another fan of The Hangover. Guess I need to go see it.
Awww – hope you got some sleep!
I kinda like the guitar being upside down, although it is kinda weird..
If it ever opens, we’ll have to plan a roadtrip event with all the PacNW internet kids.
Most restaurants don’t last that long where I live either. It’s frustrating.
