TEQUILACON 2

Posted on Sunday, March 11th, 2007

Dave!Wow.

TequilaCon 2007 has just ended, and it couldn't have been more amazing. A great bunch of people having fun (sometimes too much fun) and getting to meet the faces behind the blogs. I just knew it was going to be good, but nothing could prepare me for how much fun was to be had. Kudos to the TequilaCon Advisory Committee for their brilliant work this time around, and I can't wait to attend next year's event.

Among the billions of photos taken, here are a few random shots from my camera tonight...

Tequilacon 2007

Jenny's annual tattoo parlor was open for business. Mine was pretty bad-ass. "Bad to the Bone - FOREVER" with a skull and cross-bones... it doesn't get much better than that...

Tequilacon 2007

The incomparable Hilly and Stunning Ms. Sizzle glamming it up for their adoring fans and paparazzi...

Tequilacon 2007

We took a run with Portland's favorite taxi driver to the famous VooDoo Donuts. The trip was made all the more exciting when we found out that COCK-FEST was coming to town...

Tequilacon 2007

Our voodoo donut sacrifice to the tequila gods was delicious...

Tequilacon 2007

But one of the most interesting attendees for TequilaCon 2007 was the venue itself. The Kennedy School is incredibly cool, despite a number of disturbing images hanging in the hallways...

Tequilacon 2007

To everybody who attended, thanks for such a great time. To everybody who could not attend, I hope to see you next time!

  1. Jessica says:

Great post, Dave – can’t wait to see you next year, eh?

  2. Hilly says:

I guess I will have to take back all of the mean things that I said about the school being evil. I am still alive, even if barely able to stand up straight.

Don’t forget to tell everyone how A++ your badges and buttons and all things Dave were. I guess someone will talk about that, won’t they? 😉

  3. Karl says:

I cannot believe we’re missing out on the Cock Fest. Should have planned around that.

  4. And here’s further motivation for me to get a job. I wanna conduct mock sacrifices in the Pacific Northwest!

  5. The Chad says:

Who’s that guy in the Red Wings Shirt? He looks pretty cool.

That was an awesome night. It was great to meet all you guys.

  6. It’s a little disconcerting that a doughnut shop would be hosting Cock Fest. I want to know more, but at the same time, I really, really don’t. I doubt if I’ll ever be able to eat a custard-filled doughnut again – or, for that matter, any doughnut with a large hole – without flinching.

  7. Hilly says:

Hilly’s fave quotes of the weekend:

1.) Does anybody got any more cum?
2.) My tongue is dry; it’s the alcohol…that’s why it’s not working.
3.) I hope he doesn’t fall in love with me.
4.) That’s a whole lot of cock right there!

  8. Dave2 says:

    Jessica… TEQUILACON 2008, BABY!!

Hilly… I know I will be talking about how cool the lanyard name tags and buttons were!

Karl… Yes. If there was one failing in the scheduling of TequilaCon this year, it’s that the event didn’t coincide with Cock-Fest. But, then again, the sign says that Cock-Fest WILL sell out, so there’s a chance that all of us couldn’t have gotten in anyway. 🙁

Frances… I don’t think that TequilaCon 2008 is going to be in the PACNW… those crazy TequilaCon Committee Members like to mix it up a bit. 🙂

The Chad… Yeah, that Redwings guy was pretty cool, actually! I’m glad that you “locals” were good enough to show up as TequilaCon invaded your city!

Eric… I think the following week is Ass-Fest. Anywhere else, I might be surprised… but Oregon? Just another Wednesday night.

Hilly… Well that’s not going to cause any speculation!

  9. Hilly says:

Wait til I do the face and lip motions for you 😉

  10. RW says:

Those tatoos look pretty cool. Too bad you had to miss AnyliquoeIcanfindCon over at my house this weekend but- oh well I guess.

  11. RW says:

that was “liquor” in there… in case you wanted to know…

  12. ms. sizzle says:

dave? i adore you. and not just because you referred to me as “stunning” in this post.

the most surprising thing for me, meeting you, is how tall you are. heh.

  13. yellojkt says:

That sounded like a real blast. We’ve had some local blogger meet-ups in Baltimore, but I’ve never been to one.

  14. Bogup says:

    Dave:
Is this the first TequilaCon that you went to?Looked like a lotta fun! and thnx for the report and pics.
    Did you get a tattoo?

  15. Stacey says:

I’m not sure which is more disturbing, the voodoo donut or the scary kid pictures.

  16. Dave, sweetie, I love my pink watermelon, thank you. And the duck rocks.

  17. Dave2 says:

Hilly… That seriously belongs on YouTube or something. 🙂

RW… Oddly enough, that’s how I read it the first time! Did you have lanyards?

Ms. Sizzle… The most surprising thing to me was how easily you live up to your name! 😛

Yellojkt… If you read any of those Baltimore blogs, you should make an effort to get to one! So worth it.

Bogup… Yes! Like I said, that photo of the skull and crossbones is mine… it says “Bad to the Bone… FOREVER!”

Stacey… Depends on how much you’ve had to drink?

Sass… You are entirely too welcome. I think that everybody was so envious of your watermelon that night. 🙂
