I'm too exhausted to get excited about the season finales of the TV shows I watch. I fell asleep ten minutes into Big Bang Theory tonight. I woke in time for Grey's Anatomy, but was nodding off at the end. Day after day of nothing but work is finally catching up to me.
Either that, or this season's finales just aren't very exciting.
Probably both.
Anyway... the new 2011-2012 television schedule has finally been announced. This means I can make the chart I'll use to program my DVR this Fall. If you don't give a crap about television, then you'll probably want to skip the extended entry. Otherwise...
Unlike previous years, there's not a lot of new shows that I'm interested in. The only safe bet for me is Pan Am, which is because Christina Ricci liked it enough to do a weekly television show...

I am rather upset they cancelled ‘Human Target’. We really need a show out there that just goes and blows things up for no particular reason. We hadn’t had a show that fun since ‘Magnum PI’! Now it’s gone forever.
Agree 1000%. It was an awesome show and I loved every episode. I can’t understand why they cancelled it when it was improving in the ratings last season. Perhaps it was just too expensive? In any event, I will miss the characters quite a lot.
🙁
I’m still waiting for Breaking Bad to come back.
The session end of Castle was good. Just watched it last night.
“Breaking Bad” is an amazing show, and I was a faithful viewer for the past three seasons… but it’s just gotten to the point where I’m not enjoying it anymore, so I decided to take a break. Perhaps I’ll catch a few episodes and get back into it but, for now, I’m going to let it go.
Oh I like this list. Now I know what I have to watch. 🙂
And Mad Men, what’s your opinion?
I used to love Mad Men, but didn’t care for this last season… I stopped watching after a couple of episodes. I am hoping that Pan Am will take it’s place on my viewing schedule. 🙂
What about Psych? Most.Awesome.Ever. Well,in my opinion.
Oops! It was there… I just accidentally overwrote it with “Rescue Me”… fixed!
That was the Grey’s finale?? Meh.
**spoiler alert**
I’m not sure there’s any point in watching Survivor after the master performance this season. Game. Set. Match. Over.
I saw there’s a Charlie’s Angels remake coming this fall. I guess it was inevitable, but it still shocked me. Ugh.
I just wish they would get rid of Jeff Probst. He’s no longer content to “call” the game… instead he’s a bigger manipulator than any of the contestants = and RUINS the show. As for the winner? I honestly believe that the show-runners and Jeff Probst manipulated the outcome. The winner was a popular player, and the longer they were kept on the show the better the ratings. Not that they were any less deserving… but I was still pissed that Survivor is such a transparent sham. It never used to be so obvious.
Is “Absolutely Fabulous” still on? God, I love that show.
There’s three new episodes being filmed this summer. I can’t wait!
I’m kinda ticked off by what they did to Cougar Town on ABC. It’s not even really a mid-season show, per se. It’s going to fill the gaps on Tuesday nights when Dancing with the Stars is not on. So it will have a cluster of weeks in the late fall and winter and maybe some in the summer? I don’t know what’s going on there since DWTS has both fall and spring seasons but only about 10 weeks for each.
Cougar Town is a hit, so they can’t cancel it… but it’s not a runaway hit, so they can’t give it primo attention. So what do they do? They do their best to kill it by delaying it to midseason and giving it a crappy slot. Then the decision will be made for them. Lame.
I watch a crapload of TV, too. At least you’re watching shows with actual plots and actors…I seem to have gravitated towards reality shows, and could kick myself for it. Thank God for TiVo so I can FF through the stupid crap…not just commercials, but the “filler” BS that the shows throw in to try to build “drama”.
Louie starts on June 23rd on FX. Did you see the first season? Brilliant.
