Gah! I can't feel my legs!
Here I am back in Chicago... home of testicle-shriveling cold temperatures. Five minutes outside feels like five hours back home, because that's all the time it takes to chill you to the bone. The fifteen minutes it took to walk back to my hotel from dinner with my friend has totally wiped me out. It's pretty harsh.
Yet, from the view out my window, you wouldn't think it was so bad...
But the biting cold wind doesn't show up in a photograph.
As it were, I am woefully underdressed for my time here. I should be buying a scarf, ear-muffs, a vest, an overcoat, heavy gloves, and several layers of thermal underwear...
Sigh. Much as I love Chicago, I'd rather be in Maui just now.

Awwwwwww. I’d like to just be in the same place as you, for once! Come down South sometime, wouldja?
Nice of them to build bridges over the open sewer like that.
It’s going to be in the 40’s over the weekend! That’s like a tropical heatwave in the middle of December here in Chi-town. 🙂
Are those circular towers parking garages?
I was in Chi-Town for 2 days in 1992. Not enough time to see anything or do anything (O’ Hare>cab>hotel>cab>convention center>cab>hotel>O ‘Hare… with some eating in-between). Would love to see the city the right way someday.
I was just thinking that it’s warmed up quite a bit. Sorry that you’re frozen!
My Lord that’s a gorgeous view. I’ve always wanted to visit Chicago. I gues your post means I should go in spring.
chicago’s great and all but how can any city really beat maui?
Is that a Bad Monkey in your coat or are you just happy to see me??
Happiness is….Seeing Lil Dave…..Bundled up.
🙂
We got down to 1 here the other night.
Luckily it’s a dry generally windless cold.
I don’t know about Maui but it’s been “cold” in Honolulu. I say only say “cold” because to us these low 70s/high 60s are cold but a nice warm day to many others. ^_^;;
Now where you are, that’s COLD.
It’s -15°C (5°F) with windchill up here north of the border. Wanna pay us a visit? 😉
I love your travel !
I love Lil’Dave !
I just want say you this :
“Fous ta cagoule…
J’aurais pu te dire Fous ton bonnet,
mais c’est moins cool que ce p**** de slogan :
Fous ta cagoule”
“Wearing your balaclava…
I could have said you “Wearing your hat”
but it’s less cool than the f**** slogan :
Wearing your balaclava”
o_O
No, no, I’m not crazy !
No, no, I don’t need cachets !
It’s a french parody of Rap song.
It’s only for fun !!! It made by Mickael Youn, a crazy french humorist. And it’s a great success here !!!

That picture reminds me those “what’s different about these two pictures” bar-style games, where you keep looking and looking for minor differences.
That’s when I noticed the red roof of that one building. It really stands out, in a minor-diffrences kind of way.
As does the short, squatty gold-ish building on the left.
So little Dave was a little too bundled up. I wasn’t sure who it was for a minute…
Maybe a little less down in the jacket 🙂
