Woke up at 3:30am New York time to pack and get ready to catch my ride to the airport. Made amazing time to Newark and end up waiting. A lot. Fly Newark to Seattle with a medical emergency onboard that wasn't me (as luck would have it). Eat Qdoba. Wait more. Fly home. Where I proceed to get so enraged that my head very nearly exploded.
The entire time I was in New York, I was inundated with fucked up FOX News advertising. I have no idea why New York is so overrun with their crap, but I guess you spend your ad dollars where you've got the most to gain. This raised my estimation of the intelligence of New Yorkers to new heights. Apparently they aren't falling for the "FAIR AND BALANCED" bullshit, and FOX is attempting to brainwashing them into believing their lie...
Annoying, yes, but easy to ignore (despite being 200-feet long).
But then I watch The Daily Show when I get home and see the latest stupid-ass salvos being lobbed in the name of being "fair and balanced," and lost my shit. As usual, John Stewart... A COMEDIAN ON A COMEDY NETWORK... is the voice of sanity in a world of FOX News gone mad...
Words out of my mouth.
Thank you Mr. Stewart... watching FOX News so I don't have to!

I don’t know if I will ever be able to stop laughing over the “fair and balanced” campaign. Ha. I can always use a good laugh!
You know, it pissed me off when Hannity claimed that Thomas Jefferson said this was a ‘Christian Nation’. Jefferson himself was a DEIST, who pioneered secularism in Virginia. He didn’t want a “Christian” nation, he wanted a moral nation where citizens weren’t ruled by a ‘church of state’, or something to that effect. He didn’t want a national religion. They wanted the freedom to choose whatever religion they saw personally fit, and a few of them changed religions throughout their lives as well. Christians who do not do the research behind their claims irritate me. I agree with Obama, unfortunately, that this is not a Christian nation (any more than this is a “white”, “straight”, or “able-bodied” nation, if you catch my drift), this is a FREE nation.
That was awesome.
Free Range Cougars… I’m assuming they have a healthier diet and their feet are softer from not having to walk around on wire-mess cages.
I PPH Jon Stewart. Too bad he’s married. As am I.
The fair and balanced thing is hilarious.
Except I know a bunch of people, including some family members, that actually believe it. Sigh.
Every time I see one of those billboards I always say “fair and balanced my arse”. You see, my arse isn’t all that fair. Balanced yes, fair – not so much. Aren’t you glad you know that?
The Fair and Balanced tagline needs to be ditched. It’s pretty obvious it’s not balanced nor fair to a large number of people.
Free Range Cougars, Shit Taco and “suck on my truck nuts” Stewart Rocks!
haha, your commentary always pleases me. loving how FAIR AND BALANCED tapers down… ummm, not balanced much?
After seeing this, I see Jon Stewart as the biggest puppetmaster that is a puppet himself. The “fear” that all you other puppets claim is unbased is actually firmly rooted in A) Obama’s record against 2nd amendment, B) the documented leanings and discussions, on tape, of Obama and Rahm Emanual to favor mandatory military “training” where youth are supposed to “learn what it means to be an American.”, C) the Democratic congress’ tendency to forcibly remove possessions from those who earn it (such as the bill proposed to move everyone’s 401K into social security), D) the push for the “fairness doctrine” that would remove free speech from the airwaves and E) the push for amnesty for illegal aliens, immediately granting vastly democratic-leaning voting rights to criminals.
If it weren’t for FOX, we wouldn’t know any of this. It’s only when FOX breaks a non-liberal-agenda-pushing story that the other networks even begrudgingly mention it.
However, I think the bipolar nature of America is a bitter pill that we must take. That way half of us (media, hollywood, and the lazy) can look like we don’t want to do the things the other half of us have to do.
I do believe the Obama/Reid/Pelosi train is intent on bringing socialism and communism to America.
To paraphrase some people more intelligent than I, socialism is great until you run out of other people’s money. Communism is great until you actually want to be good at something.
Putting all that aside, do you honestly believe that FOX News is “Fair and Balanced?” I respect that you have beliefs different than mine (very, very, very different than mine)… but a lie is a lie. FOX News isn’t interested in presenting a balanced view of anything. Let’s face it, this is no different than many other news networks, but the entire “Fair and Balanced” claim by FOX News is a total load of shit and should be challenged.
I am beyond sick of the entire nut-job Right and the entire nut-job Left. You can blame Obama or Bush all you want, but it’s polarizing crap like FOX News that’s dividing us as a people and destroying this country. Until Americans make even a small effort to understand each other and work out solutions to our ever-growing problems, we are never going to move forward.
But unity in the face of adversity doesn’t get ratings for dumbass opportunists like Keith Olbermann or dumbass hate-mongers like Rush Limbaugh. Extremism is so enticing because it’s so easy. FOX News is a glowing testament to doing what’s easy… spoon-feeding hatred, anger, bias, fear, and outright lies to a willing public, all in the name of being “Fair and Balanced.” I hope the destruction these extremists peddle from BOTH sides is making them a lot of money… I’d hate to think that this country is being divided and sold without somebody getting rich.
That’s the new American Way, after all.
In any event, I find it interesting you didn’t even address Stewart pointing out how Bush made plenty of moves that could easily be considered tyrannical or socialistic. I guess if it comes from a Republican, it’s all good.
You can call me a puppet all you like, but be careful not to trip over your own strings when you do it.
