Shampoo

Posted on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

Dave!Lately I've been addicted to the line of 3-in-1 body wash/shampoos from Philosophy. I was given a set when a friend moved away and recently rediscovered them... I then bought a couple of new bottles that arrived this week.

Nothing perks up your morning faster than washing up with yummy flavors like "Hot Chocolate" or "Cinnamon Buns" or "Frozen Lemon Custard". It's also kind of nifty that my first decision of the day gets to be something as entertaining as "do I want to smell like a Key Lime Pie or a Waffle Cone this morning?"

But today, for some strange reason, I couldn't decide on a flavor. Rather than stress about it, I mix-n-matched to create my own. Here's the "Dave Chocolate-Strawberry Ice Cream Cone" I came up with...

Dave Cream Cone

It's one part "Strawberry Milkshake" with one part "Hot Chocolate" and two parts "Waffle Cone". Pretty sweet! The smell washes away fairly quickly after the suds disappear, so I don't have to smell like this all day.

This is probably a good thing, because tomorrow I'm going to try out "Dave Fruit Loops" with equal parts "Strawberry Milkshake," "Key Lime Pie," "Frozen Lemon Custard," and "Mimosa".

Sure four flavors are a tricky maneuver to manage while in the shower, but I'll be even more delicious than I usually am!

    lol! 😀

I could make some kind of Banana Split joke, but but I’ll defer instead to the slathering masses (or is that the “latering” masses)… 😉

BTW: Any warning on the label about using these then dayhiking in Grizzly country? Would think that’d be a volatile combination.

  2. Hilly says:

Haha, I want to hear the Banana Split Joke! As a true lover of all things Philosophy, I have to get graphically gross here and say that we do not use Glade, Febreeze or AirWick for the number two sessions in our bathrooms; we use Philosophy room sprays and they really do the trick!

  3. adena says:

    It’s neopolitan Dave!!

There are SO many places I could go, based on that drawing…..but, I will refrain. 🙂

  4. jodi says:

i have a hard time not licking myself when i use the “cinnamon buns” stuff.

  5. Avitable says:

I’m just struck by the fact that apparently your chest is so ridiculously hairy that you need to shampoo it. Wow.

  6. Avitable says:

And now I just realized it’s body wash/shampoo. That’s weird too but for a completely different reason.

  7. Wayne Hall says:

The combination of the “grizzly country” and “shampoo smells” and “naked DaveToon” reminded me, for some unknown reason, of the following joke that I now share with you without asking first if it’s ok.

In light of the rising frequency of human – grizzly bear conflicts, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take extra precautions and keep alert of bears while in the field.

We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren’t expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity.

Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear & grizzly bear excrement. Black bear excrement is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear excrement has little bells in it and smells like pepper.

  8. SJ says:

I can’t believe no one’s asked if they can lick your waffle cone …

  9. EDDIE says:

Now I understand why they’re saying “I wanna eat you…”

  10. rae says:

lol! apparently i’m not the only one who stands in the shower with philosophy bottles in hand asking myself what i want to smell like today.

  11. Laurence says:

    I love ALL !

I love Philosophy (even if these products aren’t marketed in France)

I Love the shrewd mixture : Chocolate-Strawberry-Ice Cream Cone (I want to test this mixture ! And the cinnamon buns… Mmmmm… The more you have, the more I want !)

I love Lil Dave. He has a keen sens of modesty ! (But how shall we do for not having a dirty mind ?… with the Hot chocolate of Lil Dave ?…) 😀

  12. I checked you blog the other day and was amused enough with the Madonna post to make a little time today to read more. But this post is all I needed to get hooked. I’ll be back.

  13. This is gonna sound like a dumb question but – does “waffle cone” really smell like a waffle cone?

Myself, I’ve always been a little wary of food scented soap-like things.

  14. amanda says:

I *love* the Philosophy body washes, and combining the scents is a great idea.

Is it wrong that I suddenly have the urge to smell you?

  15. Chase says:

More delicious than you already are? Honey, I don’t even think that’s possible.

  16. I think if my chest smelled like Waffle Cone I’d be hungry.

But maybe the women around me would be hungry too! Yum…

  17. Bec says:

Yay! I can get them over here!!!! Feel as if I am abandoning the minty orginal source that makes me feel all tingly but the chance to smell like mimosa is just too tempting… oh, there’s a mint chop chip one?! Hang the expense!

  18. kilax says:

I hope you got to share your yumminess with someone! 😉

  19. I’ve never heard of a guy using foodie-scented body washes! lol That’s hot. 😉

  20. Mooselet says:

    Oooooo… tasty!! 🙂

  21. Juli says:

You’re like a living and breathing Jelly Belly.

  22. karla says:

I’m very smell focussed. So, I have to avoid all food scented candles, shower gels, etc. They either make me want to eat everything in sight, or lick myself. Neither is very appropriate in mixed company. I limit myself to smells of the earth…musk, vetiver, patchouli, green scents. Then I just want salads. And the oddest urge for truffles…..

  23. I ADORE the Philosophy 3 in 1’s. They had a special one a year or two ago at Christmas. It was Eggnog 3 in 1 and a melted marshmallow body souffle. Now, I’m not one to subscribe to either of those to put them in my mouth. But the smell was DIVINE!

P.S.-The strawberry smells like pink kid’s medicine so I cannot use it. bleh.

  24. Amity says:

I just used the Banana Nut Bread one this weekend and I was marveling at its scent.

  25. kapgar says:

    Oh. My. God.

How long until we’re reading stories about you licking yourself because you smell so good?

  26. Amy Guth says:

Layer a little Demeter fragrance spray in one of their weird scents (Hello? Sushi perfume? Bleh.) and then the possibilities are endless.

  27. diane says:

Ha! Dave, I had to do some linkage on this entry, since I posted only a couple weeks ago about how much I love smelling like a dessert ala’ Philosophy products. And I always love when I can include the male perspective.
Frozen Lemon Custard was my favorite for summer, but now I’m back into Cinnamon Buns. Though, Vanilla Birthday Cake is my all time fav!
