Rest

Posted on Thursday, June 29th, 2006

Dave! It's over! Oh oh oh ohhhhhhhver!

I have been living in cave for the past few weeks, so I am just now catching up on the news. Much to my surprise (and relief) our Beloved Leader didn't decide to "liberate" any more countries while I was gone. About the only thing I did notice was the flag-burning ban vote, and that was only because I was getting massive traffic to my entry on flag burning. And only part of that traffic was idiots trying to hotlink to my (theoretical) picture of a guy with diarrhea crapping in a G-string (also a pleasant surprise).

In addition to the news, here's some other stuff I've got to catch up with this weekend...

  1. Read the 246 unanswered emails piled in my inbox.
  2. View the 2032 new entries stuffed in my feed reader.
  3. Watch the 17 television shows stacked in my TiVo.
  4. Buy groceries.
  5. Go through my mail from the past month.
  6. Pay my bills from the past month.
  7. Sleep.

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to skip right down to #7 and get some much-needed rest.

Goodnight!

  1. I love the avatar you chose for this entry. I actually thought it was going to come out of my monitor all Hannibal Lecter-like and bite my face.
    Sweet dreams!

  2. Erin says:

That and the Supreme Court told Bush today that he’s not above the law. Yippe, it’s been a great day, all around. Congrats on finishing your project.

  3. Karl says:

Woo hoo! Rest up, dude. You deserve it. We’ll keep the home flags burning.

  4. Laurence says:

    Bonne nuit et dors bien…

  5. Wayne Hall says:

    re: massive traffic…

side question: how much bandwidth are you generating now-a-days? What platform would you need to be on?

Why do I ask? I work for an ISP and have some connections and wouldn’t mind seeing if I could pull some strings for my only favorite blogger. I would of course require a custom davetoon shirt upon completion of hosting assistance.

  6. EDDIE says:

    Congratulation!
You just need to come here to Honolulu Hard Rock Cafe.
First drink and pupus on me.

  7. Jeff says:

I once worked a huge project with tons of overtime and got no sleep. Then, when it was finally over I spent the whole next week dreaming about it too!

  8. Kevin says:

Only 17 shows? I know it’s the off season, but isn’t that slacking a bit?

Now I expect you to add a #8 and skip to that one immediately after you finish #7. And that would be go see Superman Returns!

  9. Mocha says:

Crap. Am I supposed to be watching the news and be all involved with politics, too? I don’t have enough coffee to do that right now.

I’m with you on the sleep, though. It sounds like a good idea. Maybe I’ll join you.

Ummm… not THAT way, but you know what I mean.

  10. ChillyWilly says:

See ya next weekend, Dave… have a good sleep…. Zzzzzzzz

  11. Jon says:

Congratulations on finishing “it.” Hopefully “it” buys you plenty of toys, rice crackers, and Coke with Lime.

    And bandwidth.

Speaking of the bandwidth…if you put up a tip jar, not only would I not think any less of you, I would actually contribute from time to time to offset the cost of keeping the blog going. And I wouldn’t mind paying a few bucks more for spiffy Dave merchandise so you can turn a bit of a profit. Just something to ponder.

  12. Annette says:

    What Jon said!

  13. Sheryl says:

Isn’t today the 35th anniversary of your beloved Hard Rock Cafe(s)? Where’s the cake and the party hats? Congratulations on finishing the project. Do you feel as if you’ve given birth?

  14. Chanakin says:

    Maybe you should retire

  15. Belinda says:

    SSssshhhhhhhhh. No Molestare.

  16. RW says:

Hey puddinhead… wake up and go to sleep! 🙂

  17. SJ says:

Hope you’re having lovely dreams of Ms. Hurley …

  18. Wimp!

Sorry, let me rephrase that – you mean in a choice between watching veronica mars season 2 AGAIN through being so sleep deprived that you start hallucinating and wear goats horns for protection and actually getting ZZZZ’s – you chose the pillow? And I thought you cared.

  19. Congrats on finishing your projects! Rest well!
