This morning I woke up with a searing pain running from my neck into the left side of my chest and all the way down into my torso. Apparently I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in the middle of the night. The ache was so bad that it was triggering something in my digestive track that made me feel like I had to poop all day long (even though there was nothing in me to poop). Compared to a kidney stone, the pain is laughably tame, but it still makes for a very uncomfortable day. I can only hope that this is something that heals quickly, because it would be nice to be able to move again. I'd take some of the hard-core drugs I've got left over, but didn't want to waste them in case my kidney stones come back.
And speaking of kidney stones, I got the bills for my lovely emergency room visit today. Talk about pain. Even with insurance, the cost is obscenely high. I may have to sell my kidneys in order to pay for treating them.
Irony removeth thy beak from out my heart...
So much for buying a backup for my backup this year!
I've received a few emails telling me that my blog is suddenly displaying hotlink errors for all my graphics. I've no idea what could be wrong, but have been trying to investigate in-between phone calls and dealing with all the work I've got piled up. If anybody is experiencing this, please let me know (and be sure to tell me how you're viewing this site... which feedreader, browser, etc.).

I could use a kidney. You know, if you’re selling one. O_O
But I thought you weren’t responsible enough to have a kidney?
🙂
Oh I’m totally not responsible enough to have a flamethrower either, but I still could use one.
I hear that!
It’s always best to get muscle strains like that as a result of doing something really marvelous, but when you wake up from sleeping with pain like that… It’s just wrong!
I was going to go on a rant about the healthcare system in America but decided to go grab a coffee instead. I feel better. But you sir, have the bloody worst luck. Hope you feel better soon.
Ouch!! Hope you feel better!!
And I am not having any problems with the graphics.
Pain sucks! Here’s hoping it will get better before it gets worse.
All pics are fine in Google reader and your real blog (watch, you’ve already fixed it). Vista/firefox here.
I’m getting the hotlinking images when I view your RSS feed through Bloglines Beta using Firefox 3.0.8
Hospital bills suck. The last time I had a major migraine epi (the pain was so intense….the right side of my face had palsy, my right arm went completely numb and I swore I was having a stroke…), I had to go to the ER to get a shot to relieve the pain. Said shot costed me $600 after the insurance “paid” because while the ER doctor was covered by my insurer, the person who gave me the shot and the shot they gave me wasn’t.
God bless the US Health Care system and all their fee scheduling….
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Yeah, I got the “not allowed to hotlink” error off your DaveYork graphic.
…
I had no idea irony was a cartoon chicken. Makes so much sense now.
“I may have to sell my kidneys in order to pay for treating them”
Like selling your car to pay for the repairs on it.
I’m still trying to score a Drobo for my backup needs, crossing fingers!
I have heard that kidney stones are tied for second after child birth just behind cluster headaches. Sorry you’ve been through so much recently.
Not seeing any hotlinking problems… I use Flickr but that’s actually against their TOS… wonder when they will disable hotlinking?
