Reprise

Posted on Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Dave!I had made a promise to myself that I would stay home an entire month so I could recuperate after the continuous travel-hell I was subjected to the last three months... but, alas...

Here I am packing my suitcase again.

I am not even a little upset about it. I had two-and-a-half glorious travel-free weeks, so it's not like I can really complain. Besides, I'm heading to So-Cal, where I understand the weather is fantastic. This would be a nice change from the freezing fog that's been plaguing us in the valley here for the past several days.

Assuming the airport is open tomorrow.

If the weather continues to suck, I may not be going anywhere.

Which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world because, assuming I do make it out, I'm back for only a week before I fly out again.

In the meanwhile, I will attempt to make the most out of the five hours sleep I get tonight. A pity I've been wrestling with stomach cramps all evening and won't be able to enjoy it.

Best wishes for a pleasant trip. Hope you enjoy.

  2. Jeff says:

The weather’s great down here Dave, we are expecting 83 degrees here in Los Angeles, San Diego will be 79. Last summer, I was wishing I could live somewhere where there is some cold weather in the winter, maybe a little snow. After reading about your adventures in winter living, I’ll stay put.

Come by and visit anytime you want.

  3. Hey, that’s my neck of the woods! Whereabouts in SoCal are you heading to?

  4. sizzle says:

But then you come back to see ETTA!

  5. Jen says:

It’s true, it’s lovely in California right now. I was in L.A. yesterday and it was around 85. It sort of killed me to come back to Minnesota where it’s -12. In fact, just thinking about it now makes me kind of sad. And cold. And hungry for some reason.

  6. A Lewis says:

SoCal??? I’m there right now! In Newport Beach…but I’m leaving at 1pm today for Seattle (are you in SEA between 5pm-7pm tonight by any chance??). I wish you some lovely travel-free days ahead!

  7. m says:

Where in yon SoCal goest ye?

  8. Oh the weather down in this neck of the woods is really quite lovely at the moment. And by that I mean the Southwest, because last time I checked Phoenix, you know, isn’t in Socal. 70° for the win.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, your technorati tags are the stuff of legend. Legend I tell you.

  9. Hilly says:

It’s supposed to be extra warm today so be sure your DaveBuns don’t burn!

  10. whall says:

I want to go to Vegas. Anybody else wanna go?

  11. Sarcastica says:

I hope the weather allows you to leave on your trip! At least this one sounds relaxing 🙂

  12. Sarah says:

SoCal is nice and warm. The stupid valley is not. It doesn’t snow so according to everyone I should just shut it and quite complaining but I’m freezing.

  13. Becky says:

Hope you have a great trip and I’m jealous. Its -8 outside right now!

  14. twinkie says:

aww… this post is probably too late but if you eat some saltine crackers and drink some 7up it might help your cramping.

Baking Soda works too but doesn’t taste as good.

OR alo vera juice. We keep both in hand at all times. HEY if you had four kids with tummy issues you’d keep it around all the time too.

*sidenote.. VEGAS??? did somebody say VEGAS? I *heart* Vegas. We go every April. It’s a hubby golf trip. We women shop. They golf. It’s fun. By “we women” of course I mean all the other wives. I sit by the pool and drink all day.

  15. metalmom says:

    Waaah!! I wanna go!!

    Safe trip! Have fun!

  16. Poppy says:

Are you wearing a wifebeater in your thumbnail photo?

  17. Erin says:

Your travel schedule sounds like my non-stop in-law/friends of fiance invasion-spectacular that has been going strong since late August! I envy your two and a half weeks! 🙂

  18. Patty says:

Warm weather sounds nice! I’m sick of the winter already.
I wish for you to get a good solid 7-8 hours of sleep someday…..I don’t know how you function on 5 hours, I can’t do that very long.
