Small

Dave!Sometimes things happen in life that make a person feel so very small and insignificant...

Small Dave

As somebody who tries to live larger than life, this is not a happy feeling for me.

  1. Hilly says:

You know that I’m thinking of you. Here’s a kiss for your cheek…..

  2. margalit says:

Are you OK? Now you’ve got me worried. Hugs.

  3. amanda says:

    Hugs, man.

Didn’t Monty Python have a line in the title theme of “The Meaning of Life” about how humanity is essentially a speck of dust in the universe? Take whatever happened with a grain of salt…this too shall pass…

    –Amanda

  4. Lewis says:

I can’t believe you’re leaving us hanging. We’re here for you….and always up for listening.

  5. kazza says:

*hugs* from the other side of the world

  6. Kyra says:

    Ruhroh. You must need cake.

  7. Melanie says:

I’m one of those annoying people who give Internet hugs using parentheses, so:
    ((((((((((Dave)))))))))))))
I hope things get better for you soon.

  8. bogup says:

We are all small in the scheme of things.
But if we live our life the way God desires, everything works out — even when the most difficult circumstances come upon us.
    Oh, and (((hugs)) too.

  9. NYC Watchdog says:

    Ditto.

The past 3 years comes to mind.

  10. Patty says:

Hope your doing ok. Spill the beans, that’s if you want to. I’m such a curious george.

  11. delmer says:

    I hope all is well.

  12. Bec says:

I hope you’re okay. Sending the good I have your way.

  13. Karl says:

I’d hug you but then people would really start to talk. Hang in there, dude, we’re crossing our fingers for you.

  14. Randy says:

We ARE all small and insignificant (echoing someonelse’s statement). That is why having a great blog like yours is so cool…

  15. Göran says:

You are totally larger than life on the interwebs, let that rub off on you and hopefully that other stuff will come to a good ending/solution soon!

  16. Brandi says:

May you feel not so small and insignificant soon.

  17. shari says:

First things first, let me offer compassion for whatever experience you’re having. Next, though, let me say that this Tiny Li’l Dave is awfully damn cute! Last, can I buy you a beer?

  18. Kimberly says:

Sometimes it’s not what we accomplish in life…. it’s what we overcome ;)

  19. Iron Fist says:

You want me to beat someone for you? Because I will. Hang in there, Dave.

  20. holygirl427 says:

    Yeah.

Whatever it is I hope it’s like a 24 hour bug that goes away soon.

  21. RW says:

Being humbled by something outside oneself isn’t always a bad thing, but being humiliated is never good. I’m hoping you’re doing well.

    Where are the naked pictures?

  22. Troy says:

Hope everything is well. Firda and I thinking of you.

  23. Avitable says:

You, of all people, should never feel small. You’re the biggest person I know, where it counts. And by that, I mean the heart.

    And the penis.

  24. Firda says:

    Have some chocolate pudding!

  25. ~jtm says:

    oh, my….
life does have a sneaky way of bitch slapping us when we least expect it.

  26. Bre says:

No one likes that! I hope you’re back to sorts soon!

  27. Robin says:

We all get little “wake up” calls periodically. I think it helps to put our own problems in perspective and to remember to have compassion for others. But nobody on this earth is insignificant—you may never know how you matter to others, but we all matter.

Sending hugs, chocolate pudding and Coke with lime your way.

  28. So…who do I need to beat up, dude?

And don’t make me start quoting Yoda:

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.”

So go on with your luminous self…

  29. Dan says:

What? Someone cut off your penis?

  30. Stephanie P says:

Chin up, Dave. Tomorrow will be a better day.

  31. diane says:

    Tiny Dave makes me sad.
(that’s little Dave shrunk to minute proportions)
I think Avitable’s comment is impossible to top. Hope things are better today.

  32. Laurence says:

A big kiss for ” mon doux génie” ! ;-)

  33. Roberta says:

    Yup.
I just got laid off. And that makes me feel depressed and scared.
Being ignored, forgotten or moved on from (recent ex-boyfriend laid that one on me recently) makes me feel pretty damned rotten in the small/insignificant realm.
But usually what makes me feel very small is realizing I fucked up.
Especially if I was unkind or insensitive. That is the smallest.
I think you and I would like each other. Like, beyond the page. I think our version of larger-than-life is compatible.
Hope by now you’re feeling right-sized.
(Oh, and the chocolate pudding was a great suggestion.)

  34. All of these people were timely and sweet and sentimental and crap, leaving me to say: that Davetoon is so adorable all small. Pocket-sized.

  35. Hmmmm . . . everything ok over there?

  36. Mr. K says:

Our thoughts are with you, Dave. Hang in there!

    Mrs. and Mr. K

  37. Catherine says:

Perspective can be a bit dangerous. Don’t get stuck down low and far away. The newer entry of Bad Monkey providing an assist is encouraging to see. Hug and well wishes for you.

By the way, might I recommend an “Arnold Palmer, My Ass”, which is a Bell Jar full of ice, lots of spiced rum and whatever’s your fave lemonade.
