Raggedy

Posted on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Dave!GAH!

While looking through some old photos, I ran across one that scared the crap out of me. How is it that any parent could possibly think that these heinous "Raggedy Ann and Andy" dolls make a good toy for kids? I mean, seriously, JUST LOOK AT THESE THINGS...

Scary Raggey Dolls

Trauma inducing.

If I had these minions of satan staring at me from a shelf in my bedroom, I'd probably end up permanently scarred from the nightmares.

And from pissing myself.

Because clearly Raggedy Andy is the inspiration for Pennywise the Clown in IT...

Tim Curry as Pennywise in IT

Put a sailor hat on Tim Curry, and there you have it...

It as Raggedy Andy

I guess some parents just enjoy the idea of tormenting their kids.

Welcome to my nightmare...

At least you didn’t have a Ronald McDonald doll. Used to have to put that thing in the closet at bedtime. I swear Ronald was out to get me.

  2. Donna says:

I loved my Raggedy Ann doll! I dragged her everywhere with me until I was 4 when I tossed her over for an even more horrifying purple devil. He had a soft stuffed body with a plastic devil face. (Like this only creepier)

I was devastated when I dropped him in a mud puddle and my mother made me throw him away. I’m pretty sure all of my character flaws are in direct relation to the loss of my beloved little purple devil doll. I don’t think I’ve ever fully recovered from his loss.

Also, I loved the Raggedy Ann and Andy cartoon too. That really doesn’t speak well for me because I think I was like 14 or 15 when that was on TV. 😀

  3. Dude, I used to clean a house that had collectible porcelain dolls in one of the guest bedrooms and I swear those damn things were alive!! I was dusting in there once and the Haitian Priestess on WINKED AT ME!!!!!
Oh hell no! I got up out of there!!

Glad I never had one of those.

  5. B.E. Earl says:

    Clowns suck.

Offense intended, if there are any freakin’ clowns reading this.

  6. Jim says:

My mother has or had an antique baby doll sitting in a rocking chair in her guest bedroom. Any time I stayed there, I would drape my coat over it and say “Goodnight Chucky.” Damn thing creeped me out.

  7. Invader_Stu says:

I am going to have nightmares about those things. They look like the kind of toy you’ll wake up one night and find them standing on your chest with a knife.
