TODAY'S PRIZE: One of Twenty-Five Blogography T-Shirts!
SORRY...CLOSED FOR ENTRIES!
You may notice a new tab has just been added for the "Artificial Duck Store" at the top of this page. That's because I've had some cool new Blogography silk-screened T-Shirts made, and you can win one for FREE (in your choice of two designs)! There will be 25 winners, but everybody who enters will get a 50% off coupon good for any shirt (so even if you don't win, you win!). To get a look at the goods, just click here to visit the Artificial Duck Store. Each shirt is a $14.95 value.
THE CATCH: I may be crazy, but I'm not wealthy! So shipping charges are not included with the prize ($3.95 Priority Mail inside the USA, and $13.95 Air Mail everywhere else... an explanation is in the comments section).
THE RULES: One entry per person please! Entries must be received before midnight on Saturday, April 23rd (Pacific Time USA, here in Cashmere, WA). Winners will be notified on Sunday, April 24th. Email addresses will never be released, and will be deleted once winners have been notified and e-coupons have been sent. Winners are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes (if applicable). Shipping charges can be paid via PayPal or money order in US funds.
TO ENTER: Just send an email to shirts@blogography.com and be sure to include your name and a valid email address so I can send you a coupon and contact you if you win.
THE STORY: One of my earliest jobs was designing T-Shirts for screen printing. Sadly, it's getting to be a lost art, because of all the internet "iron-on transfer" sites popping up. Who wants to pay a graphic designer to create a classy T-Shirt, when you can make your own design with clip art and Zazzle? It's a bit of a bummer, because an iron-on will never be as good as a real silk-screened shirt. To read about my humble design beginnings and the origin of Artificial Duck T-Shirts, I've written an entry about it here.

Need Dave burning clown ass t-shirt. F%$#ing clowns, burn em all in the ass. I’m not getting the bad monkey thing. Is it some subliminal spank my monkey thing? Cause I’m all for people spankin my monkey.
Funny you should mention it! Actually, I have sixteen designs for shirts based on DaveToons, and the Artificial Duck logo, and some other ideas. If the shirts are well-received, I’ll be adding more designs and shirt-types, including this one:
As for monkeys? I dunno. It was the first cartoon I ever made for my blog, and I think monkeys are funny.
Wow. Already 22 entries, and it’s only been up for an hour!
To answer a question that came in one of the emails: Yes, certainly I can send your prize via Surface Mail if you wish. HOWEVER, you should know that for small items (like a T-Shirt) it is actually MORE expensive!
An example… AIR to Great Britain: $16.00. SURFACE: $23.00!
Another example… AIR to Australia: $14.50. SURFACE: $21.50!
Yet another… AIR to Canada: $13.25. SURFACE: $15.25!
I just decided on a flat $13.95 international Air Mail charge to make things easier. But if you want a more expensive shipping option, or insurance, or anything like that, I’ll gladly calculate the exact charges and let you know. It’s all up to you, but taking the Air Mail is probably the cheapest route. 🙂
I know it’s hard to believe, but you can go to USPS.com and see for yourself! A boxed shirt weighs 12.5 ounces, and must go Parcel Post Economy (Surface) or Parcel Post Airmail (Air). Honest, I’m not trying to make any money here, I’m just trying not to go broke with the hundreds of dollars I spent on the prizes for this week!
Does bribery and corruption work? ie, can we *buy* a tshirt if we don’t win? hehe
In answer to my own question, yes apparently we can, at the Artificial Duck store 🙂
Yep. And, even if you don’t win a FREE shirt, you will get a 50% off coupon so you can still get one at below my cost (plus shipping).
I’m in a very generous mood this Blogiversary!
I *like* the clowns suck t shirt. I have a small collection of clown t’s. One that says “clowns are scary” and then a few from the Emmett Kelly Clown Festival from where my parents live, that are SO damn cheesy. It’s like fear therapy, you know when you are so scared about something and the therapist makes you face it head on? That’s what my clown tees are for.
Monkeys scare me, too.
Who’s the hot cardboard model?
Cardboard what??
OH! You mean Elizabeth Hurley! Yes, Liz stopped by this weekend to say hello and posed with me for the photo. Naughty girl… I had to crop her hand out of the photo! The little minx!
You’re turning me on with all the postal talk Dave.
Hey… where’s your pride? Your picture should be of you and your 20% Gay tshirt. I know you have one… I just know it.
All hail Dave’s generosity during Blogiversary Season!
(Any way you can embroider a “W” on a shirt if I buy/win one? ;-))
I really should have a 20% pride shirt, shouldn’t I? 🙂
And sorry… I don’t know how to embroider Horns, but I’d be happy to scrawl a “W” on it with a Sharpie permanent marker!
Nice site Dave. I enjoyed reading your comments. I especially could relate to:
