Back to London. It may be the fact that I am here on vacation instead of work, but I really love this place. The best part is that since I've been here a half-dozen times before, I've already got all the touristy crap out of the way. Those long lines for the Tower of London I saw as I came into the city proper can be safely ignored. Nope, this time I can just happily wander the city, visit with friends, and take in a museum or two. No Big Ben. No London Eye. No Buckingham Palace. No Tower Bridge. No Westminster Abbey. No Harrods (okay, maybe Harrods). No Changing of the Guard...
Sure the weather could be a little nicer, but there's always lunch at Pret.

Pret do make nice sandwiches. I went to London a few months back and was taken aback by just how many branches they have in London – I’m from the north where there’s maybe 1-2 per city, and yet walking down The Strand we passed at least 4 – that was just one street.
Have you ever visited York, by the way? It’s where my parents come from and it’s very nice. It’s near Leeds.
Pret is amazing. I think there’s finally one in New York City, but other than that we have nothing like it in the States. Great food and so very convenient. Yes, I’ve been to York a few times… after Edinburgh, it is probably my favorite city in the U.K. – very beautiful. I think I like York Minster better than Notre Dame?
