Twenty-Three

Posted on Saturday, April 10th, 2004

Dave!As usual I cannot sleep tonight but, this time around, it's actually explainable... I was really sick all day, and spent most of it in bed being miserable. I'm pretty sure it was food poisoning of some kind, but I cannot imagine what I ate to cause it. This is rotten luck because I was counting on finishing up some things at work so that my weekend would be free. Now I don't know what's going to happen, as I still have to get that work completed before Monday.

What it probably means is that I won't get to work on my Hard Rock site or go for a motorcycle ride like I had planned. That sucks!

To cut down on the tedium, I found a list of 23 questions to answer from Neil's blog...

1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says: "...spend your cornering traction early. If there are surface hazards around a blind cor-..." (from the most excellent book "Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well" by David L. Hough.
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first? A glass of water.
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV? An episode of The Office from BBC America off my TiVo.
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is: 11:30pm?
5: Now look at the clock; what is the actual time? 12:16am.
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear? The song Solsbury Hill by Erasure (from their album Other People's Songs) in my headphones.
7: When did you last step outside? Yesterday after work. What were you doing? Hopping off my motorcycle and then climbing up the stairs to my apartment.
8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at? Fark!
9: What are you wearing? Joe Boxers, a pair of Levis, and an Eddie Bauer rugby shirt.
10: Did you dream last night? I don't dream.
11: When did you last laugh? While watching an episode of The Office from BBC America off my TiVo a few hours ago.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in? Framed prints of a few artists I enjoy... "Electricity II" by Robert Lyn Nelson (below), Vendedor de Flores by Diego Rivera, and City Life by Victor Arnautoff.

Electricty II copyright Robert Lyn Nelson — A large whale is bursting from the ocean dripping water while in the background is a beautiful sunset.

13: Seen anything weird lately? Every day. The latest would be an elderly woman walking her cat on a leash while talking to imaginary people (or maybe they were real, but invisible?).
14: What do you think of this quiz? My answers are not very interesting, so I think I will post it as an extended entry.
15: What is the last film you saw? BASEketball on DVD this morning.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first? A plane ticket out of here.
17: Tell me something about you that I don't know. I collect comic books. But since that's not very revealing, how about this: I am a closet sci-fi junkie and have met all the principal actors from the original (and best) Star Trek television series (and have autographed photos of each one). Ditto for the cast of Farscape.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do? Remove violence from the world by executing anybody who would commit a violent act... ironic, isn't it?
19: Do you like to dance? Not really... perhaps I wouldn't feel that way if I were any good at it.
20: George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or some one who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years? Oh he's a nut-case alright, I just can't decide if it's by accident or design.
21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her? Sam (not Samantha).
22: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him? Evan.
23: Would you ever consider living abroad? More and more each day.
