Something shifted in me last week.
After I finished Bullet Sunday 969 (the post before this one), which ended with the startling statistic that ectopic pregnancy deaths have nearly doubled in states with strict abortion bans... and the Cornell Seven story in the news, I was scorch-the-earth angry about all of it. So I bashed out a trio of blog rants that I was going to unleash this past week. It's what I do.
But then Monday morning I re-read the post for that day, realized I was more unhinged than usual, started to re-write it, realized that this isn't what I want my blog to be, and decided to take a week off to re-center myself.
It didn't work.
If anything, I think I'm more unhinged. I wake up... see what new fresh hell has hit the news... and get mad all over again.
The difference is that now I don't feel the need to do a rage-dump and can get back to business as usual in a world that's in no way business as usual.
