Moving quickly here because it's almost 8:00...
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As somebody with both family and friends affected by breast cancer, I'm happy to be promoting awareness and pleading for the ladies to get mammograms...
Dave & Bad Monkey love healthy boobies! Schedule your mammogram today!
And now, it IS 8:00, so I must take my leave of you to watch my favorite show currently on television...
It's Pushing Daisies Season TWO!

They just started FIRST season of Pushing Daisies here. It looked quite promising in the trailers they showed beforehand. I guess I should start watching that. I need you guys to put me on the trail of GOOD series!!!
Ah, Pushing Daisies. The show that I’m desperately hoping won’t sink the show I work on, which airs opposite.
I turn 40 next year, which is the magic year after which I get to have my girls squashed between two metal plates in an imitation of a pancake. Not something I’m looking forward to, but I will do it.
Pushing Daisies was SO good for the premiere episode. This was pretty much the highlight of my night.
Our damn HD feed was screwed up, and the music and dialogue were almost the same audio level, which made it hard to hear. But it was still a great episode.
There is a website out there that is trying to recruit a million women for breast cancer research: http://www.armyofwomen.org
Pushing Daisies makes me smile for an hour straight, it’s so good. There is even a website for the clothes the women wear. I wonder if I could wear the dresses they wear for my corporate job…
Your illustrations rawk!!! I look forward to them as much as your blogging (sorry? I think)
Good on you, Dave. I have lost two close friends in the last two years to breast cancer and one of my blogging friends is just waiting to hear if she needs chemo. It’s a terrible disease.
‘Pushing Daisies’ isn’t being aired in Australia yet but I am looking forward to seeing it when it finally gets here!
UGH, I need to set my DVR to record that. I loved the first season but wife, eh, not so much. So I might as well help her with her home testing.
I had a mammogram last year. Luckily that was normal and since I am young, I don’t need another one for a few more years.
Pushing Daisies was pretty good last night, but not as good as I was expecting. Maybe I am just grumpy/stressed in general so it sucked all the fun out of the show? What did you think of it?
The newest Mammogram machines aren’t as painful as the old ones and they are faster too!
(Alot of women were put off mammograms by the sheer fact that they were more degrading and painful than a pap smear so spread the word,
THERE ARE NEW MACHINES!)
and on a side note, I bought Pushing Daisies season 1, but haven’t actually gotten to see it yet, what is the show really about??
I love PD!! On my blog, i called myself a daisy pusher because i tell all to tune in just like you do!! So, may i call you daisy pusher too??
Monkey looks good in pink. Maybe I will knit him a pink scarf for the winter.
So what did you think? I was all like “eh” I think I might have changed in the interim months when it was off the air and instead of being endearing, I kind of found the characters with the exception of Chenoweth, to begin to grate on me because they were the same and didn’t show any thing new. I’m sure I’ll watch, but it won’t give me the same glee anymore.
Hmm… maybe I should start taking those antidepressants…
I’ve never watched Pushing Daisies and I’ve been putting off getting a mammogram.
This makes me completely lame, right?
Alright, so I’ll ask my oncologist for a script to get a mammogram today.
And I’ll check out Pushing Daisies.
Lameness fixed.
It’s the prettiest show on TV! Except for some reason my ABC feed cut out for 15 minutes last night. So I had sound, but I missed the very pretty pictures that went along with it…
Aww, thanks for plugging breast cancer awareness. I love the title of this post! Hehehe.
BEWBIES! Mammary glands are a good thing.
I had to stop watching Pushing Daisies last season. I was watching too much tv and that was on my list of potential drops, so off it went.
Plus, it always made me hungry for pie.
Thanks for your interest in and encouragement for healthy boobies! My girls and I are grateful 🙂 They received a clean bill of health this past summer!!!
We love “Pushing Daisies”…Kristen Chenoweth as Maria…priceless.
OMG! I loooooove pushing Daisies, but your version is totally funny/cute!
My recent absence from internetty stuff lately has been largely due to the gut-punch that is my mother’s diagnosis of an invasive, moderately aggressive breast cancer. I haven’t written about it yet, and I still feel thrown for a loop. She’s the first woman in our family to be affected, and the doctors say that it’s not the type of thing that’s genetic. She’ll be addressing it the way she does everything–assertively and head-on. And quickly. Total time from finding a suspicious mass to radical surgery = about 3 weeks. My mom kicks everything’s butt; I’m expecting cancer to be no different.
And yet, I’m still scared to death.
I love Pushing Daisies, my friend Micheal and I watch it together every episode.
I don’t love breast cancer nearly as much. I actually hate it!
