TODAY'S PRIZE: Dave's "Hard Rocker" $225 Rock Box OR "Hard Lurker" $50 Bag!
SORRY...CLOSED FOR ENTRIES!
When mapping out Blogiversary 2, I really struggled with just how I was going to give away all this stuff. At first, only people who had left five or more comments were going to be allowed to enter. Just my way of saying "thank you" to the many people who make this blog as fun as it is for me. But then I thought this would be really unfair to somebody who only just discovered my blog yesterday and might go on to leave thousands of comments. So the initial four days were open to everybody. This time is a little different, because I still want to have a day just for my "commentin' posse"... my favorite things for my favorite people!
There are two prizes today. EVERYBODY is welcome to enter, but ONLY those who have left five or more comments between April 18 2004 and April 18 2005 are eligible to win the "Rock Box" prize! After the Rock Box winner is drawn from qualified entries, all remaining names will be put in a drawing for the "Hard Lurker" prize (whether you are a lurker or not!).
Sorry about that, but hopefully it will encourage people to have fun and participate with their comments for Blogiversary 3 next year... because look at what you could have won this year:
THE CATCH: Ground shipping is included to any address in the Continental US. If you live outside these 48 States, you can still enter, but you will be responsible for exact shipping charges (weight is about 6 pounds). ALSO... Some countries have severe restrictions as to what can be imported. If you live outside the USA, please make sure that none of these items are forbidden to receive in the mail (call your local post office and see).
THE RULES: One entry per person please! Entries must be received before midnight on Saturday, April 23nd (Pacific Time USA, here in Cashmere, WA). Winners will be notified on Sunday, April 24th. Email addresses will never be released, and will be deleted once winners have been notified. Winners are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes (if applicable). If you aren't in the Continental USA, shipping charges can be paid via PayPal or money order in US funds.
TO ENTER: Just send an email to rocker@blogography.com and be sure to include your name and a valid email address so I can contact you if you win.
A complete list of the goodies in the box and bag can be found in an extended entry.

If you liked The Golden Compass, you should go on to read the rest of the trilogy: The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. Wonderful!
Jeez, Dave, you’ve really outdone yourself this time!
An ipod? Wow.
So, have you broken your Depeche Mode: 101 CD yet? I only ask because I’m going to have to replace my TWW-Season 1 DVDs soon because I’ve almost cracked them in half.
I am not finished with “The Golden Compass” yet, but I definitely plan on reading the rest of the trilogy once I’m done! How did I miss these books?
Now that I’ve ripped my copy of 101 into my iPod Shuffle and iTunes, I think my CD is safe! The DVD on the other hand…
Yeah… iPods are cool. 🙂
This prize package truly Rocks! Nothing says Dave more than this giveaway. *shaking head “no” in sheer amazement*
You have WAY outdone yourself. How will you ever top this for year 3?
Awww Dave…
You’re killing me man. Killing me.
*sighs and shakes head* I guess I’ve got seven months to come up with something good for my two year.
You know, earlier you talked about maybe quitting, or falling away from Blogography after 1000 entries, but somehow I think you’re here for the long haul:>) It looks like you like your readers quite a bit.
Very generous, Dave.
And whether I win or not I just wanted to say thanks.
(I’m hoping for the former =)
Hey,. I just realized I read that whole Pullman series. It does rock. I think it just has different titles here.
I think about those stories, still, and it’s been a year since i read them. I would love to have a daemon.
Karla, I believe The Golden Compass is known as The Northern Lights there? Yours was the original title but of course we here in the US had to be different. I think the other two titles are the same. Excellent trilogy. It’s being done as a play in London. A friend recently went to see it and was blown away!
Oh, the Philip Pullman Trilogy is very good. They were those kind of those books where I just couldn’t put them down once I started…ruined a whole weekend…..well not ruined but, you know what I mean…
How will I top myself for Blogiversary 3? That’s a good question! I am assuming that Blogography will still be around in another year, but don’t even know that for certain. My favorite giveaway (after the Hard Rock & iPod Shuffle box today) was Thursday’s prizes… but since that didn’t work out, I will try again next year. So that’s one day down… 🙂
I’m in a state of shock that something of such quality as the Pullman books is virtually unknown (at least when compared to Harry Potter). And I’m not coming down on the Potter novels… they are entertaining reads… but the “His Dark Materials” trilogy is in a different class entirely.
I don’t think I hit the 5 comments mark but it’s fair.
Still, all prizes are nice so… good luck to us all!!
And by the way… I loved the Pimp Dave!
Ah, but now you have an incentive to share your opinion with us more often! Who knows what “crazy Dave” is planning for next year?!? 🙂
(and Pimp-Dave loves you too… he loves EVERYBODY!)
Great stuff up for the winning. Thanks for many hours of laughs.
Have you ever tried this? http://www.ihateclowns.com/slapclown.php
Just kinda makes everything mello mello.
However the lottery goes I must say I’m really looking forward to another year of insane outlooks on reality and really nifty insights to what’s going on a couple of thousand kilometers from me.
Great going, Dave. Blogography ROCKS!
Wow – Ipod Shuffle….That’s just fantastic! 😀
The Golden Compass is destined to become a classic fifty years down the line. I also liked the sequel “The Subtle Knife” a lot, but thought that the anti-religious prostheletizing ate most of the story of “The Amber Spyglass”.
To be clear, I didn’t have an issue with Pullman’s agenda, even though I am a Christian. It made me think and it challenged me, and that makes it a successful book series, in my opinion. But I thought that too much was packed into the last book.
As I said, the books made me think, and the result of that was a five-part series of LONG blog posts early in my blogging career. You can check out part one here.
Be warned that these reviews contain major spoilers for the remaining two books.
