Daveattle

Posted on Monday, October 29th, 2007

Dave!It seems strange that I've attended several blogger meets around the country but have somehow managed to overlook the major metropolitan city right here in my back yard... SEATTLE!

Well, last night that was finally rectified as the very first Daveattle Blogger Meet-Up was held. Unfortunately, it was kind of last-minute and had to happen on a Sunday, but people were kind enough to show up anyway...

Daveattle Lanyard

It was a great group of bloggers and a fun meet...

Dinner was most excellent at Capitol Hill's Elysian Brewing Company...

Daveattle Crowd
Sizzle, Me, Rick, Kristin, Rick's wife Julie, Tracy, and Tracy's friend Holly

Thanks again to everybody who took time out of their weekend to hang-out with me, and I hope we can do it again next summer!

Meanwhile, on the television front...

This was my last episode of Chuck. How in the hell could such a brilliant concept be so utterly and totally ruined so quickly? I am so f#@%ing tired of Chuck being such a whiny little bitch ALL THE TIME. He has two modes... 1) scared and 2) nervous... and I am sick to death of them both. When a series called "Chuck" would be a better show without Chuck, what's the point?

Back to work...

  1. sizzle says:

it’s like you’ve got me in a strangle-hold – hee hee. it was so much fun. thanks for pulling the gathering together. can’t wait for next time! 😉

  2. Very nice of you to share the Dave-y goodness all around the nation. Be sure to make repeat stops in So-Cal though. 😀

PS: Maybe the point of Chuck is to make you wanna.

  3. The Chad says:

I agree about chuck. I havent seen this latest episode, but I doubt it’ll be any diff than the others. The only thing that nearly saves it is the really hot girl spy, the hot sister, and the funny yet really annoying friend.

And when are you gonna come hang out in Portland? Well, besides the last time.

  4. kapgar says:

Yeah, I can kinda understand the concerns over Chuck. But we’re still holding out hope that it’ll get better. We still laugh at the show, which is a good thing.

    Jealous you met Sizzle… again.

  5. Laurence says:

It is always a pleasure to see your blogger-meets ! 😉

    P.S. I want to see “Chuck”…

  6. Wayne says:

PLEASE someone let me know when *anyone* is going to be in Austin. I’ll host!

And your made up “daveattle” word gives me a few ideas for some movies.

“Daveattlefield Earth” – The Psychlos have taken over the world in post-nuclear earth, and Bad Monkey decides he can learn new technology by faking to be a stupid monkey and gets trained to be a butler but then ends up taking over the world.

“Daveattle of the planets” – a five-member superhero team made up of Dave, Bad Monkey, Liz Hurley, Jared Fogle and Ann Coulter where each weekly episode involves Jared and Ann being killed for some reason (oh my god! they killed Jared and Ann [you bastards!]) and Dave saves the day and gets the girl.

“Daveattle beyond the stars” – the only thing cool about this movie is Dave gets to play the voice of a near-anatomically-correct spaceship captained by John-Boy.

  7. kilax says:

I never got a hug like that from Dave 🙁

Just kidding! These meet-ups are fun. Let’s keep doing them, from coast to coast!

  8. Miss Britt says:

I’m afraid Reaper is headed down the same path.

  9. lizriz says:

Somehow that pic looks so Seattle (not that I actually know), and I found myself thinking how Hollywood Lucky Strike is.

  10. Aunt Robin says:

Still waiting on someone–anyone–to venture into Northern Michigan for a “meet” like that. Winter’s on it’s way. Wear your tuque and bring your mush doggies! 🙂

  11. the patient says:

Hey! I used to go to the Elysian Fields. How fun.

  12. Hilly says:

Yanno….it’s really hard for me to watch Chuck now without hearing the whiny bitch, thanks very much ;).

  13. Avitable says:

I think Chuck’s been doing better than Reaper. Reaper’s so ingrained in the MOTW without any real motivation (why does he get weird powers and why won’t the devil tell him where to find the soul?). Chuck’s at least got more interesting stories, and I think Chuck’s character is still pretty cool. After Pushing Daisies, it’s my second favorite new show this season.

  14. Tracy Lynn says:

Dude, the picture does not capture the awesomeness of Daveattle. Thank YOU.:-)

  15. claire says:

I’m with you on Chuck. How many times can he trust the new bad spy in town? Didn’t he just do that last week?

  16. Peggy Archer says:

Glad you had a good time, Dave – did you drink 78 beers at this meet-up like you did in LA? 🙂

  17. Mr. Fabulous says:

You never hugged my neck like that…

  18. Naomi says:

Irony! While you were meeting up with us humble Seattle-folk, I was passing through the eastern parts of our state… and to make matters worse: I love the Elysian…

  19. tiff says:

Finally, a picture of Rick. Y’all look like you’re having mucho grande fun. Come ot Raleigh and I’ve got a whole BUNCHA loggers that will take you out and help abuse your liver.

  20. Michael says:

I missed Avitable’s Halloween party because it was too far away and I miss this one in my own neck of the words, not paying attention as per usual!
