Jobs

Posted on Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Dave!I accidentally landed on the televised Presidential Address while channel surfing this evening. I tend to avoid stuff like this in a desperate attempt to save what little sanity I have left in a world gone mad, but he was on all the channels, so what could I do?

As my brain was melting, there was only one thought I could keep in my head.

Just one thought that my mind clung to as I watched President Bush attempt to give his speech...

Unpresidential

What is Steve Jobs waiting for?

Presidential

STEVE JOBS FOR PRESIDENT!

BRING JOBS TO AMERICANS IN 2008!

TAKE BACK AMERICA WITH STEVE!!

President Steve would be super awesome! He got Apple back on track, President Steve could totally get America back on track too! We need President Steve!

I wonder if we would get to sync the presidential inauguration to watch on our iPhones?

Presidential Podcasts would totally kick ass.

  2. blanetalk says:

All the people who would be better (mind you, I didn’t say good … the whole government is beyond the ability of any single human being to fix) at leading the country are also too smart to take the position. This includes Steve Jobs.

  3. iddly says:

    Dave for President!

    iddly da President

  4. ssp says:

Not that I think SJ couldn’t do better than GWB.

But the image SJ built at Apple suggest that he might be better at being an absolute leader of some kind. Openness, checks and balances and all these other things which you require in a democratic system don’t seem to be his forte.

  5. Bre says:

If his platform was anywhere along the lines of “Free iPhones for EVERYONE!” He’d have my vote!

  6. delmer says:

Could we get Woz to be the VP?

We don’t hear much about him anymore.

  7. Laurence says:

Steve President of THE WORLD !!!
THE WORLD need President Steve ! 😀

    P.S Dave2 President of THE BLOGS ! YEAH !

  8. kilax says:

Duh. Dave2 for pres and Steve Jobs as VP 😉 I guess you could settle for President of the blogs as Laurence suggested.

I saw a headline on someone’s paper today that said “Bush refuses to end war.” Couldn’t that be the headline every day?!

  9. diane says:

Admittedly, I love the idea of a President Steve.
But mostly because my Dad’s name is Steve. 🙂

  10. Gina says:

I would vote for Steve Jobs or Jon Stewart. The presidential candidates in the ring right now are alright, but they’re not feeling “of the people” so much.

  11. Avitable says:

How about the Jobs Gates 2008 ticket? We’d be a superpower again.

  12. bogup says:

Capitol idea. It doesn’t say much, but Jobs would be far better than any candidate on the horizon.

  13. kapgar says:

Holy Shit! Your Steve-Toon is AWESOME!!! That should be your fifth annual shirt. You, Steve, and Bad Monkey! That would be too damn cool!

  14. Wayne says:

heh, “bring jobs to americans” Brilliant.

I liked how positive your blog entry was. To be frank, as soon as you mentioned the subject at the top, I was steeling myself for a good ‘ol fashioned lynching. Or bashing. But you kept it positive, and that’s awesome.

One thing about Jobs – if he’s fiscally responsible, he’d probably end a lot of social programs but be able to get everyone to give to charity more often. I’d vote for that.

  15. Hilly says:

Okay I’ll be the one to say it….ANYONE would be better than Bush. I want to switch to the Mac team so if he promises me a new laptop, I’m in ;).

  16. yellojkt says:

Li’l Dubya looks a lot like Bad Monkey.

  17. Lewis says:

You mean, he wouldn’t wear the (obligatory???) suit and tie? And we’d all have an apple on our desk, just like the teacher did?

  18. jane says:

I gotta agree with Avitable, a Jobs/Gates ticket would totally kick ass & probably win. Wasn’t financial management the big draw with Ross Perot? I would also vote for Jobs/Colin Powell ticket.

  19. Juli says:

Yeah, he would have to start by first having Apple products MADE in the US. 😉
