Dave! It's positively frightening how dead the blogosphere has been today.

I can only guess that everybody is on extended holiday from Independence Day, and/or just doesn't feel like blogging now that summer has arrived. Not that I can blame them. The weather here has been incredible lately (92° with clear blue skies) and, if I didn't have work to get done and T-shirts to ship, I'd probably be ditching my blog and out there enjoying it as well.

But I kind of have to blog today because... ooh... ooh... ooh! There's a date for the Chicago blogger meet now...

Davecago2

Dave Travel 2007

Mark your calendars for August 25th! Last year in Chicago was a total blast and was attended by a number of notable bloggers, including...

And, of course, ME from right here at Blogography.

This year promises to be equally sweet, and the location will be picked out once we all have an idea how many people will be showing up. An early favorite is the remarkable Pizano's Pizza on E. Madison in The Loop. They, of course, have a fantastic award-winning Chicago Deep Dish pizza, but it's their crispy buttercrust pizza that's the cat's meow.

Oh great, now I'm going to fall asleep with Pizano Pizza buttercrust fantasies in my head.

Home-delivered by Elizabeth Hurley, of course.

Will Liz make you dress up in a pink bikini, and snap photos of you for her new fashion line?

(You know, cuz she did that to her son….)

  2. 92°? You poor thing. We hit 116° here in Phoenix this week 😉

  3. minimimi says:

Dear Dave; I have come to the conclusion that you are in fact a nomad living in a graphic designer’s body. Or a graphic designer living in a nomad’s body. Either way, you never seem to stay in one place for more than a week! As a nomad trapped inside a girl’s body that hasn’t been to more than two different cities in the past four years, I supremely envy your roving and roaming. Your like a new-age gypsy for the 21st century- complete with apple entourage and a bad monkey to boot. I have also come to the conclusion that I am living through you. Cheers.

  4. RW says:

I think when you go to Orlando you and Adam should do a naked vlog too!

  5. Bre says:

92 and humid or 92 without the humidity? It’s been reaching the mid 90s here, but it’s so darn muggy that being outside gets awfully gross!

  6. Wayne says:

So seriously, you’re going to send Liz a few shirts, free, right? Who knows, she might wear one!

  7. nancycle says:

Yup, pretty quiet in the Blog realm – everybody’s hooked on facecrack. 😉

You wouldn’t believe the dream I had about you last night!!!

    Gotta order my T today.

    Peace, love & Lenny Kravitz,
    N.

  8. Jeff` says:

Man, you aren’t kidding about the blog traffic. My site meter actually went negative today.

  9. Hilly says:

I’ve really got to get myself to Chicago to meet some of those people! Maybe one day….

I’m glad YOU TOO said it was dead cause I was starting to think that I smell funny!

  10. Holmes says:

Okay, so it’s not just me and the blogs I read that are dead. That’s a relief.

  11. Well, I’ll be posting a rant later today, so that could give you, oh, maybe 2 minutes of distraction. I’m sure you’ll be waiting with breathless antici…..pation.

98 degrees and 45% humidity here, ba-by! And this was a nice day because at least there was a breeze. Why aren’t you coming to visit the South in August? Huh? Huh? I’m betting we could come up with a few 100 degree days with maybe 70%-80% humidity…just for you.

At least you sound like you’re in a bit of a better frame of mind than you have been…

  12. Dan says:

    Dude. San Francisco.

  13. Mocha says:

It was such a blissful experience last year and so last minute for me. I’m grateful I bit the bullet and hung out with everyone, most of whom I didn’t know but had started reading with a swiftness and LOVED and ADORED and now I’m all kinds of hooked on all these great people.

Great choice for the pizza experience. Will there be some mojitoing and cosmoing and cigaring afterward this time, too? We should ask Jen to scope it out and let us know where to hang after dinner. I already know that I can’t get enough of you, Dave. You have uber-coolness dripping from your pores. 😉

Also? I don’t take the blame for the deadness in the blogosphere.

    Ok.

I do. It’s all my fault. Want me to put everyone back that I have hidden in my closet?

  14. I’m up for Chicago again!

  15. Catherine says:

I love your postcards, those kick ass.

  16. Lewis says:

You are the second or third person to blog on the fact that just a church mouse appears to be active in the blog world….shh, mommy will hear you! Summer, warm weather……..even I have been more quiet than usual……which is very, shall we say, unusual.

  17. Suzy says:

Yeah, the blogosphere was totally dead. I don’t get why people think they need to have a life instead of blogging.

It’s just wrong on so many levels.

  18. Avitable says:

I’ve been so busy this week that I’ve neglected my blog-reading duties. Although now I’m reading everyone’s blogs naked to make up for it.

  19. I am pretty sure that I can drag The Boy out for this. We’ve been looking for a reason to go to Chicago in the next month or so … I’ll drop you a note when we have it firmed up.

(Will Bad Monkey be there? I don’t see him in any of the pictures…)

  20. Karl says:

So when is DaveLando happening? That’s what I want to know.

  21. kilax says:

    Yay, I can’t wait for Davecago ’07!!!

  22. kapgar says:

Totally there and I love the sound of that ‘za. You on for spinach in your pie?
