TQ3.2

Posted on Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Dave! The ripples from the sensory utopia that was TequilaCon3 PACNW 2007 continue.

First there was TQ3.1 Seattle, whereas Dustin, Karl, and Ms. Sizzle kept the magic going. And last night was TQ3.2 Wenatchee, where Brandon, Shari, and I met up for dinner in the one-time Apple Capital of the World.

I brought a box of Aplets & Cotlets for Brandon (read this to find out why), Brandon brought a bottle of laundry detergent for me (read this to find out why), and Shari brought her entire family (for protection, obviously, which is self-explanatory considering she was meeting up with crazy bastards like Brandon and I).

The bad news is that everything went great, and I have no exciting "Brandon took out a gun and shot up the place" stories to tell. The good news is that we came up with a terrific list of possible locations for TequilaCon4 2008 that we'll be suggesting to Jenny...

Colby KS

Okay, I made up that last one because I've always wanted to visit there, but the remaining four locations actually came up in conversation. There were a number of other cities tossed around, but I forget what they were (Las Vegas maybe?). Naturally I'm pulling for Kansas because I've never been there before.

Hmmm... I'm taking the day off today. I wonder what kind of trouble I can get into?

It has to be Istanbul! That’s where my mum is from, hence my name: Serap (which means mirage in Turkish). If it is Istanbul then I’m definitely coming and you can all meet my Grandmother’s relatives, who will stuff you full of food and pinch your cheeks until you bleed… sounds good doesn’t it?! πŸ˜‰

  2. Well, I vote Kansas as well because I can drive there. I too would like to have Tequila with a group of rowdy bloggers!

  3. Bec says:

Day off?!!! DAY OFF?!!! What’s going on?!
Stay in bed and watch the world go by…

  4. Karl says:

Huh, I thought Toronto was the probable next location. That’s the one I heard bandied about at TC’07, anyway. Totally jealous that you got to hook up with Brandon and Eclectic.

And now you should have no trouble with laundry for quite some time.

  5. Avitable says:

Enjoy your day off. Are you going to see TMNT?

  6. shari says:

Yeah, because of protection, but also? Because I didn’t bring gifts, so y’know, I was actually trying to give you guys pick of the litter, so to speak. And since you arrived first, you now get to choose which one of the darlings is yours.

  7. Jeff says:

La Crosse I can do! As a matter of fact, it’s my single most-visited customer destination. But not to worry, I can still party there with no problem.

    So where do we vote!?

  8. Dave2 says:

    Serap… TEQUILACON 2008 IS AT SERAP’S RELATIVE’S HOUSE!!

Frances… Something tells me that the TequilaCon Executive Location Placement Committee might not be too receptive to Kansas, but my fingers are crossed!

    Bec… I wish. OH how I wish! πŸ™‚

Karl… That was just a rumor of one possible location. I don’t think they decide for a few months yet. Cities lobbying for TequilaCon are more aggressive than for the Olympics, I tell you!

Avitable… I don’t think so. I’m driving to Seattle to get drunk. But hey, wouldn’t it be awesome to get drunk THEN see TMNT?!? Sweet! Hmmmm…

Shari… Actually, I would take any of your well-behaved children… when a kid does her algebra at a restaurant, then complains because her parents want to leave before she can finish her homework… well, there’s something special going on there. πŸ™‚

Jeff… Ha ha ha! Voting? I’m going to tell Jenny you said that! I’m not sure exactly how the TequilaCon committee selects the host city. Probably has to do with million-dollar bribes and kick-backs or something. Better have the St. Cloud city council get a check sent in right away! πŸ™‚

  9. Firda says:

May I suggest Churchill, Manitoba, Canada a.k.a. the Polar Bear Capital of the World? I’ve always wanted to hang out with the polar bears. I heard they’re cool dudes. I’m sure Blogography readers would get along famously with them.

  10. zuhn says:

There is so much injustice going on. I’ve been waiting to meet Shari for years! And here you come swooping in, meeting the clan…. I call foul.

  11. serap says:

Hos Geldiniz (Welcome)!! It might have to be renamed Rakicon 2008 though!

  12. Avitable says:

I think that would likely make the movie better.

  13. Dan says:

What do you mean you haven’t been to Kansas?

  14. sizzle says:

please go get into trouble. i want to hear all about it. (i’m selfish like that.)

way to keep TC’07 alive my friends!

    i’d go to kansas. maybe.

  15. suze says:

Oooh. I’d vote for London, Ontario. It’s a great city, and it’s also close enough to Ottawa that I could actually attend this fine event I’ve been reading about for two years now!

  16. Lewis says:

Idaho — Sanpoint, Coeur d’Alene, McCall, Boise
Oregon — I guess you were just here, but there’s plenty to choose from
British Columbia — Okanagan Valley is awesome
Or what about Liberal, Kansas (I see you mentioned Colby)….I spent a lovely night in a funeral home in Liberal. Eek! (PS…Thanks for visiting my site…..now what’s this about Dave’s Pizza? Yours???)

  17. Troy says:

Toronto or London. It makes no difference to Firda and I since we are about an hour away from both. Though an Ontario TequilaCon would be sweet.

  18. Troy says:

I also love when a fellow Canadian (suze) states that a 5 to 6 hour drive is “close enough … that I could actually attend this fine event” πŸ™‚

  19. kapgar says:

Would that be Istanbul or Constantinople? Oh wait, it’s now Istanbul, not Constantinople. Can you explain to me why Constantinople got the works?

  20. brandon says:

i am so relieved you didn’t tell everyone about the strippers. they were so NICE! they don’t deserve to have their good reputations sullied on the internet.

next time, however, could you please plan our next trip to coincide with the arrival of the massage therapists?

  21. sandra says:

It’s too bad I lived in NY AFTER TC was here…

  22. I thought I saw Toronto on a blog or two in the last few weeks…

London, Ontario is close so I’m okay with that. I don’t think I’ve ever been there except for lunch/gas on the way to Toronto, Niagra Falls or some other place out that way.

Actually I don’t think I’ve been to any of those places so I’m game.

    Have a nice day off!

  23. diane says:

Days off are great!! I highly recommend them.
I vote for Wisconsin in ’08. I could just rent a car and drive right up in a couple hours! πŸ™‚

  24. margalit says:

Hey, what’s wrong with the east coast? Boston is a great place for down and out drinking. I highly recommend it.

And aplets and cotlets. I haven’t even thought of those in 30+ years. My father used to buy them… and they are good. Or were when I was a kid. They still make them? Where can you buy them other than Washington?

  25. Karl says:

Sure, NOW you’re going to Seattle. Wah.

  26. Diesel says:

Dave (and friends), come play in my caption contest!

If you don’t, Farrah will have won.

  27. Kapha says:

What? Not Big Beaver, the – err… Big Beaver (?) Capital of the World?!?

  28. Troy says:

    Hey Dave!

    Happy Birthday!

  29. DutchBitch says:

Hey Dave! Here by way of Snackie Γ‘nd Karl wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

So tell me honestly… The Cockfest on Wednesday… that’s really your birthdayparty, isn’t it?

  30. serap says:

Kapgar – Its nobody’s business but the Turks… so please butt out! πŸ˜‰

  31. ChillyWilly says:

I thought I put in my post for a vote for TequilaCon ’08.

Looking at the Google map of where Colby, KS is, that’s not that far of a drive from Salt Lake. Just two freeways to take… I-15 to I-70.
(oh, and a lot of miles in-between).

I’ll be making this next year… for sure. I don’t want to miss out on my badge… and of course some drinking with fellow blog friends.

  32. kapgar says:

    Thank you, Serap!
