Cancellation

Posted on Thursday, March 15th, 2007

Dave!Continuing on with TequilaCon Week here at Blogography...

On this penultimate day of TequilaCon Week, I had thought I would sit down tonight and blog about the host city to this year's event... Portland, Oregon. Given that one of my best friends had lived there for eight years, I have a number of interesting adventures from my visits to the "City of Roses."

But my beloved Veronica Mars (the best show on television) looks to be cancelled now, so I just don't feel like it.

CW Network fuckers. I'm just dying to know what pile of shit you're going to get to replace Veronica, and will laugh my ass off when it turns out to be yet another CW turd that gets cancelled after three episodes.

Anyway...

If no other television disasters happen between now and tomorrow, I'll finish off TequilaCon Week and start getting ready for Blogography's Blogiversary 4 Celebration next month. Wheee.

I was watching the CW today, and they had this ad for the pussycat dolls show, stating there was 10 million viewers. And VM gets only 4? People are so dumb and tacky. Idiocracy IS coming……

  2. Hilly says:

No pic of Lil Dave pissing all over The CW? What gives? ;).

    You’ve just broken my heart….*sniff*

  3. Nicole says:

NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Not my beloved Veronica Mars! From this day forth I shall no longer allow myself to become attached to television shows. The stupid networks always cancel the good ones. And yet ER remains on the air. Where is the justice?

  4. kilax says:

YES!!!! I have been waiting for Blogiversary!!!

  5. diane says:

    So sorry to hear. 🙁
But I guess on the bright side I’m glad I didn’t get invested in this one…

  6. claire says:

I actually feel kind of sick from reading about VM’s imminent cancellation. C-dub fuckers.

  7. Mooselet says:

I can’t say I’ve watched VM – it’s always getting bounced around here – but I’m sorry for your loss Dave.

  8. shari says:

What is this television of which you speak?

  9. Karl says:

Freaking figures. I only got hooked on VM a year ago and now they’re getting rid of it? Idiotic television execs…can’t leave well enough alone. Argh.

  10. Chris G says:

Dave, it might NOT be cancelled, just changing. Check it out.

  11. Laurence says:

    OOOOOOOH NOOOOOOO !!!
VM is broadcasting here (saison 1) !!!
I love VM… How can they do that ?
    Pfffffff

  12. Anthony says:

Ah ffs, can’t believe that about VM. 🙁

  13. Avitable says:

    Did you read the update?

“So bottom line: Veronica Mars could be: 1) spinning off into a new format, 2) returning in her college years or 3) getting canceled.”

  14. Mike says:

Hang in there Dave. Is that a light at the end of the tunnel?

Althought I’m not sure about this FBI idea, I would at least give it a chance.

    🙁

I can only imagine what cancelling VM would do to the CW Dave number. 😉

  15. I’m so totally bummed right now I can’t even look forward to your Blogversary. I suppose I should be happy that we got a great show for 3 years, but to tell you the truth it makes me want to boycott the CW for being dumbasses.

  16. Chaz says:

This is awful news! It was just over this past summer that I started watching Veronica Mars. I bought both seasons and watched them both within about a 2-week period! Then I get teased with one last season and those morons at The CW are going to cancel it? WTF? Seriously, somebody needs to go beat some sense into those people. How can they keep shows like “One Tree Hill,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Girlfriends,” “The Game,” or “America’s Next Top Model” and at the same time get rid of “Veronica Mars?” (I haven’t seen any of those other shows, but they previews for them look awful!) That’s absolutely absurd!

  17. Silvertongue says:

I just read a new post on Kristen’s board
So it *might* come back, but they’d skip 4 years into the future?

I haven’t decided if I’d rather have them cancel it on a high note, or bring it back with the potential for it to be awful. However, I do trust Rob Thomas and co., writing-wise…

But if they don’t bring back Logan? I am protesting. Violently. By, um, boycotting the CW (wait, I don’t watch anything but VM on there anyway. Nevermind.)

  18. Bre says:

Dang it! Sooner or later all the shows I enjoy are going to get taken off the air to make room for more 18 year old barbie dolls to audition to be *stars*

  19. Joefish says:

I was going to post that link about the show maybe not being canceled, but I see a bunch of people have beat me to it. There may be hope yet.

  20. kapgar says:

Sorry about VM, dude. If you need a shoulder to cry on…

  21. Michelle says:

NO! Say it isnt so. Why? That link doesnt work, I guess I’ll google it. I think I’m gonna go curl up in bed and cry now.

  22. Tal says:

Anyone know of any show EVER succeeded assuming a “new format”?

  23. suze says:

But, but, but, we just finally got Veronica Mars in Canada. And now they’re going to take her away. They can’t have her back. They can’t. I need my little blonde one.

  24. Roberta says:

But have you tried the Riches?
It may give you reason to live.
    It has me.
(That third sentence doesn’t ready right.)

  25. Juli says:

In addition to the mail a postcard campaign to save VM, you can go here and save yourself a stamp.
