Pink

Posted on Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Dave!Blogography is proud to participate in Pink for October all next month.

Now you know the reason for the header change I made a while back. The old headers weren't able to be "pinkified" enough to show much support, so it was time for a change. Breast cancer has touched some very special people in my life, and helping to raise awareness is important to me. But going pink is just the beginning. There's more to come in Breast Cancer Awareness Month from Blogography, so watch this space to see how you can help out (and possibly get some cool stuff to boot!)...

Pink for October
Dave & Bad Monkey love healthy boobies! Schedule your mammogram today!

Glad you mentioned the Susan G. Komen Foundation. As a former oncology nurse case manager I can tell you that they have a WEALTH of resources to share regarding breast diseases, not only breast cancers. They provide these resources free to anyone seeking help and information, which is why contributing to their foundation is important.

  2. ~TheAngel~ says:

Hey nice pink template 🙂 I join that as well 🙂

  3. Is it odd that I think the pink almost looks a bit better? Blogography = awesome. Pink Blogography = edgy, daring, sassy and awesome?

    Maybe?
    No?

  4. adena says:

Hey, thanks! My mom has had breast cancer twice, and has had to have a radical masectomy each time.

Any effort to combat this disease is highly appreciated!

  5. Dana says:

Hello! I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks and I just have to say I really love it!

  6. Jody says:

I went pink with a link. Thanks for a wonderful reminder!

  7. Eve says:

    This is so cool.

  8. Bec says:

Thank you fo rthe reminder – had forgotten to do this… and then I flicked over my page a day and there was a reminder there too…
This is an issue to anyone with breasts.. and those who like looking too!

  9. apricoco says:

I love pink blogography! (even more than the blue)

  10. Neil says:

    Looks terrific!

  11. Mooselet says:

Very Cool, and I’m going pink as well… looks really funky with my colours, but all for a good cause.

  12. Hilly says:

You’re like Metrosexual Superman and shit!

  13. karla says:

I would, of course, assume that Bad Monkey offers ‘breast exams” doesn’t he?

I, for one, am touched by your interest in the health of my breasts…

    or any breasts.

I can make anything sound shady, can’t I?

  14. MRKisThatKid says:

Yay! I love pink websites, there really isn’t enough of them. For a few weeks a while back a street near me was decorated with tons of pink balloons and stuff for the same charity, it was really beautiful and brightened up my day every time I went down it.

  15. Laurence says:

    Very good initiative !
Very good way to heighten public awareness of Breast Cancer.

I donated last year and I got a Pink Ribbon Badge. I often wear it.

    You are great !

  16. Lisa says:

I happen to think the pink is very becoming on your blog and kudos for stance on awareness. I just found out about the pink for October yesterday and updated my cancer blog (www.notthecword.com).

This may seem like TMI but my mammogram is scheduled for Tuesday. Well it’s no so TMI. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

I love the ribbon on the monkey!

  17. nancycle says:

Hey, to anyone reading…If you have the opportunity to participate in the Weekend To End Breast Cancer it’s a life changing experience. Raising $2,000 and having a personal page you can dedicate to whomever you choose, for me was right thing to do and would recommend it. Now, you would need to walk 60km that weekend, but that’s all part of the fun!

For more information. Feeling bad is awareness, doing something is LOVE.

In a somewhat unrelated story, have you seen what your girl has been up to?

And so does the Pink DeLorean! Dang!

Seriously, this is extremely well done. Very nice!

  22. kapgar says:

How long did the color conversion take you?

  23. Bre says:

    That’s outstanding! I adore the pink! 🙂

  24. jodi says:

would it be too copycat if i made a pink breast cancer awareness banner thing too? although, i might not make it for all of october, because i’ve got a special halloween banner in the works. 🙂
