Success

Posted on Monday, February 9th, 2009

Dave!So I'm back home. Yippee.

I was going to write up a long, drawn-out entry about how Bad Robert's "poop cycle" theory may have turned out to be reality, but then I decided discussing poop on a Monday just shouldn't be done. Instead, I realized that all my goals for 2008 were achieved, so now I can die a complete success!

My New Years Resolutions for 2009...

  • Try a Pop-Tart flavor I've never had before. DONE! Apple Strudel Pop-Tarts... tasty!
  • Travel somewhere I've never been before. DONE! Mallorca, Spain... beautiful!
  • Visit a Hard Rock Cafe I haven't seen before. DONE! Also Mallorca, Spain... sweet!
  • Drink a beer I've never drank before. DONE! I had a label of Kölsch (Gilden, I think) that was new to me... delicious!
  • Get another Apple product. DONE! I'm typing this on my new MacBook Pro... shiny!

With this rousing success in mind, I think I've earned an early night to bed.

Where I will undoubtedly stare at the ceiling for the next six hours.

Koelsch, Pommes Mayo, Palma at night and a new Macbook Pro? You, sir, have excitement keep you awake ;) But seriously: I can relate – 2009 has been good to me but Insomnia seems to be the price one has to pay. Wish I was sleeping …

  2. Marc says:

Home, sweet home. Enjoy some days in your own castle!

  3. Anthony says:

Awesome goal achieval Dave. Post up some photos of the MBP.

  4. You must be feeling so accomplished!
I’ve never kept a resolution yet so I gave up making them years ago. Well done!!

  5. Sybil Law says:

Wow! You already achieved all your goals this year?!!
    You are my hero!

  6. Finn says:

So what are you going to do for the rest of the year?

  7. ~beth says:

Insomnia? Jetlag induced insomnia? Irrelevant, actually. Both are a bitch.

  8. Hilly says:

I need to set some goals like that next year! You’ve pretty much already rocked out 2009! What’s next? ;)

  9. martymankins says:

Ok, as someone that’s owned both the previous MacBook Pro and now has the new model, I’m curious what your impressions are… differences you’ve noticed, glossy vs. matte screen, keyboard, ports, etc… anything you want to outline to an owner of an almost 3 year old MacBook Pro that’s considering the new model.

  10. Sarah says:

I think if I can just transfer to a 4 year University without killing a fellow classmate I’ll call it a success.

I am not as highly motivated as you are. For one I don’t think I’ve tried a new pop tart flavor in years. That’s kind of sad actually. Oh well.

  11. DutchBitch says:

There’s gonna be other beverages but beer on Davedon right? I hate beer, blegh… I do pretty well on other kinds of liquor, like whole jugs of Cosmopolitans and shit… LOL

    Dave:

The trip looks like it was wonderful. The wife and I are making a list of places to go after the kids head off to college. Looks like we just added another to the list! Welcome back to the states.

  13. I love my MBP to death. Death I tell you. My only gripe? The bloody USB ports are too close together.

  14. DAMN! You make me feel like such a slacker.

I’m just going to go to bed because I’ve done nothing! :)

  15. jewelz916 says:

Talking about poop is ALWAYS acceptable, no matter what day of the week. I’m a poop-a-holic. I absolutely DETEST the action of pooping and will hold off for as long as I can (I’ve gone upwards of 4-5 das without going), but I LOVE talking about poop! Does that make me weird?

  16. I don’t know if I feel like a bigger failure because I haven’t achieved any of my resolutions yet or because my resolutions were nowhere near as good as yours.

    Blech

  17. yellojkt says:

I got myself an old MacBookPro because it was several hundred bucks cheaper than a new MacBookPro.

  18. Very impressive. And it’s barely February!
