Dave!For Hachiko...

No. I am not kidding.

I totally love Coke with Lime. Except for an occasional Jones Blue Bubble Gum soda here and there, I had all but given up soda pop for four years. But then I was walking in the grocery store one day and was intrigued by these bright lime-green caps calling out to me from the soda aisle. Intrigued, I decided to give it a try because I like lime.

I now drink a minimum of two servings each day. Yesterday I had four.

Dave's Coke with Lime

Seriously. If you haven't experienced Coke with Lime, you haven't experienced life!

And to all those kind souls who have suggested adding lime juice to Coke to get the same effect... I've tried it. For some reason, it's just not the same. I've tried bottled lime juice. I've tried squeezing fresh lime. I've tried lime slices. I don't know what those Coke bastards do in order to make Coke with Lime so tasty, but I'm sure it probably involves some sort of crystal meth type substance.

That would certainly explain a lot.

No wonder I am addicted. Oh well.

  2. SJ says:

I have suspected the crystal meth inclusion since my first bottle of CwL. This evil elixer ruins your life. Bret and I have gone to as many as five different stores in desperate search of it. To all who have not yet tasted it, run away! Run away!!! That’ll leave more for me …

  3. Nicole says:

Coke with Lime IS crazy delicious! I don’t even like regular Coke, but I too was drawn to their bright lime-green bottle caps and haven’t stopped drinking them since.

I recommended this a few posts ago, but now that you have your Coke with Lime back, you should definitely try it with Malibu. It’s a drink that can’t go wrong.

  4. Kevin says:

You look so… relieved (?) and… er… happy (?) to have found your elixir? You’d think you might actually smile whilst posing with it. Oh well.

Be careful, the green blob monster is rapidly closing in on you.

  5. Patrick says:

I’ve tried Coke w/ lime and Coke Light w/ lime and it doesn’t come close to squeezing half a lime in a glass of Coke. No lime taste at all. It could of course be a shitty Swedish recipe that Coca Cola’s come up with…there’s nothing like the real thing.

What I’ve really come to enjoy is the new Coke Light w/ added Sucralose instead och Acesulfame Potassium. Before it, I never touched the Light stuff – now I’m sooo impressed that I can drink a can of soda and only get 1 kcal.

  6. adena says:

The head honchos at Coke obviously got together w/ the makers of Xbox, because I’m pretty sure that Xbox has some sort of aerosol crystal meth/crack thing going on. It’s the only reason why I would be so addicted to both.

  7. Mooselet says:

I’m happy for you, Dave. It’s good to get your fix. Must be cos it’s your birthday – something had to go right for you!

I have to say that, while I like Coke with Lime, I’m not in love with it. Coke Zero is my new carbonated beverage of choice – no aftertaste like Diet Coke but still less than 1 calorie (or whatever 2.8 kj works out to). Sweeeeeet.

  8. karla says:

    I only drink cokes occasionally.

When I do, I want the full on, massive calorie, sugar bomb regular Coke. Bonus…it tastes better here in Norway because they make it with cane sugar, not corn syrup. It’s sticky sweet and yummylicious.

    Mmm….coooooke.

  9. James says:

Well, I tried Coke with lime back when it was first hitting the shelves, and didn’t care for it at the time, but now that spring is..well..springing, and the sun is out, I may kick back and give it another try, for your sake.

  10. Bec says:

I have never been able to get Coke with Lime… just the Diet coke version. But that tastes about 1,000,000 times (rough estimate) better than ‘straight’ Diet Coke. I can only imagine what the joy of Coke plus the lime narcotic mix would be like…. mmmmm… joy.

  11. Oops, I forgot to tell you my store had new stock the other day. I thought of you when I bought it.

I usually only drink it for mix drinks since I don’t have lime around for when I want a Captain & Coke (with lime). I actually hadn’t run out (1 left) from my last 12 pack months ago…

  12. Phil says:

I prefer Black Cherry Vanilla, myself.

  13. Jeff says:

Funny! I had just written a post on my “crack” addiction (potato chips) when you put this out.

Being as how Diet Coke w/Lime is my favorite drink, having that and Lay’s Dill Pickle chips together could definitely put me in treatment.

  14. Jennifer says:

Mmm…like a Cuba Libre sans Rum. I think I remember those from Mexico. It’s a all a bit fuzzy now. :

  15. Eve says:

Check this out: Programmable Beverage Containers

This might save all of our soda-acquisitions problems in the future!

  16. Dave2 says:

    Oooh, very cool… I’ll take a caffeinated vanilla-lime soda please! 🙂

  17. Adz says:

If u read the ingredients of Coke with lime, i dnt think u’ll find lime writen anywhere, but hey those colours and flavourings sure do taste good!

  18. Dave2 says:

Coke with Lime has “natural flavorings” listed in the ingredients… this could include “natural lime flavor”, but I honestly don’t care if it does or not… if I wanted a health food, I’d drink 100% lime juice which I squeezed from organic limes. 🙂
